POSITION SUMMARY
The Sales Associate works under the direction of the Grants/Foundation Director to maintain efficient store operations. Responsible for providing outstanding customer service while maintaining a clean organized, and safe store. The Sales Associate is expected to create a positive employee and customer experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provides administrative support of daily activities; phone calls, messaging, and re-directs appropriately; and assist employees and customers
- Responsible for opening and closing the Gift Shop and Thrift Store.
- Manages, tracks, and monitors all donations in Excel
- Always provides exceptional customer services to each guest that enters the Gift Shop and Thrift Store
- Responsible for overall cleanliness and appearance of store, including dusting shelves and merchandise,
- Ensures all products and displays are merchandised effectively to maximize sales and profitability
- Receives payment and provides correct change
- Provides monthly store reports to the Grants/Foundation Director
- Works closely with volunteers
- Ensure proper PPE is always worn while on duty including but not limited to, face mask, gloves, gown, isolation gown, NIOSH-approved N95 filtering facepiece respirator or higher, if available), and eye or face shield.
- Complete all donning and doffing tasks in a safe acceptable method and discard of used PPE accordingly. (see CDC website for most current updates)
- Complete task training for all routine cleaning and decontamination processes for all surfaces contaminated by a communicable disease to ensure a high level of patient, visitor, employee, and external customer satisfaction.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical:
Require the ability to sit, stand, walk, maintain balance, and reach for extended periods of time, occasionally stoop to pick up small objects, drive, bend, climb, kneel, crouch, and twist. Must be able to occasionally lift/push/pull objects over 100 pounds in weight. The duties require the ability to use telecommunications and office equipment. Must have ability of simple grasping, firm grasping, fine manipulation and use of keyboard. Sensory requirements are far vision, near vision color vision, depth perception, seeing fine details, and hearing normal speech.
Mental:
Must be able to use good judgment, prioritize projects, coordinate multiple assignments, meet deadlines and produce quality results on time with attention to detail. Must be able to work under pressure. Must be able to cope with high levels of stress, make decisions under high pressure, cope with anger/fear/hostility of others in a calm way, manage altercations, concentrate, handle high degree of flexibility, work alone, demonstrate high degree of patience, frequently handle multiple priorities in stress situations, and occasionally adapt to shift work and work in areas that are close and crowded.
Environmental:
May occasionally be exposed to infectious diseases, chemical agents, dust, fumes, gases, extremes in temperatures or humidity, hazardous or moving equipment, unprotected heights and loud noises.

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
- Must have six (6) months of applicable experience in retail or cashier experience
Other Skills and Abilities:
A record of satisfactory performance in all prior and current employment as evidenced by positive employment references from previous and current employers. All employment references must address and indicate success in each one of the following areas:
- Cash handling procedures
- Must have excellent customer service skills, personal and telephone communication skills
- Proficient knowledge and ability to use computer software
- Experience with special projects to meet department demands, must work independently, analyze, research, troubleshoot and resolve issues
- Positive communication and working relationships with others
- Possession of high ethical standards and no history of complaints
- Reliable and dependable; reports to work as scheduled without excessive absences
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Must be proficient with typing and accurate spelling and grammar
- Ability to work independently with minimal to no supervision
- Ability to work under conditions of frequent interruptions and availability to work a flexible schedule
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite applications - Word, Excel, Outlook
- Merchandise marketing and inventory control
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
- Successful completion of and positive results from all background and reference checks, including positive employment references from authorized representatives of past and current employers demonstrating to the satisfaction of TCRHCC a record of satisfactory performance and that the applicant can perform the essential functions of the job
- Successful completion of fingerprint clearance requirements, physical examinations, and other screenings indicating that the applicant is qualified to be employed by TCRHCC and demonstrating to the satisfaction of TCRHCC that the applicant can perform the essential functions of the job
