Description

The Connected Car Manager will be managing a team responsible for maintaining timing schedules related to new vehicle launch, model year (MY) changes, store openings, training activities, and equipment installations at store locations, including quality gate attendance and their successful passing. This critical role will act as a product owner for the Technical Service teams ensuring all tasks are identified and tracked.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES & KEY ACTIVITIES:

  • Coordinate activities related to Product Quality, Connected Car, Training and Digital Service departments
  • Engineer change management and work with other product owners to convert engineering changes into customer experience and successfully launch them in vehicle, applications, or website
  • Attend and represent Service Team/Organization in regional and global meetings
  • Identify, highlight, report, and fix any escalated/high visibility issues
  • Coordinate all field travel activities at ports of entry, store locations and regional headquarters
  • Schedule product audits at the plant and/or ports of entry
  • Maintain engagement timeline for MY changes, including creation of education materials including but not limited to owner’s manuals, in-vehicle brochures, and feature and function guides
  • Manage engagement plan with Marketing team for product marketing, sales and quality teams for issue management, and Finance team for budgeting matters

  • TECHNICAL AND NPI SUPPORT:
    • Acts as a single point of contact for E2E JIT and Quality Testing/Validation Events to ensure timely resolution of issues
    • Serves as a backup (tier 3) support on escalated customer issues
    • Participates in Early Warning Meetings during the product launch phase
    • Conducts or participates in NPI events and product improvement programs

 

  • REPORT GENERATION AND COLLABORATION:
    • Maintains and publishes weekly status report with predetermined KPIs
    • Build detailed business cases and business requirements documents proposing and managing partner selection and socializing the importance of a given initiative to senior leadership. Successful candidate will have ability to build strong business relationships, sophisticated processes, while using latest connected car technology and strong project management skills

Position Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years of project management experience; automotive or high-tech industry is a plus
  • Experience in quality testing or engineering environment
  • PMP certification preferred
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Project, other tools, and timeline development
  • Experience with Jira and SAP preferred
  • Solid knowledge of HW and SW development paired with E2E testing (quality gate testing)
  • Solid knowledge of cross-functional team operating, including feeling comfortable in assigning and following up on action items
  • Ability to work independently and develop vision for program execution (state and maintain critical path)
  • Team player with desire to exceed given KPIs
  • Critical thinking and 8D/RCA problem-solving skills are a plus
  • Understanding of automotive industry and IQS ratings
  • Tech savvy and willing to work with latest technology, apps, and connected car features
  • Passion for electric vehicles a must
  • Strong technical and oral communication skills
  • High attention to detail with experience in a startup or fast paced environment is a plus
  • Ability to travel for business 25% of the time including international trips
