Overall Responsibilities: This fulltime position is responsible for the overall management of HealthWorks' communication program, including development and implementation of communication strategies and tools across multiple platforms. The position is also responsible for the development and implementation of communication strategies and tools for the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors.

  • Identify internal and external communication opportunities and challenges
  • Develop, with input from CEO and other key staff, annual multifaceted communications plan
  • Educate staff on the goals and desired outcomes of the HW communications program and ensure HW activities are in line with the communications program and its goals
  • Provide input, evaluation and guidance to other departments regarding their communication tools, internal and external
  • Manage the development (with key staff as appropriate ex. Outreach, ACA enrollment staff) and production of marketing materials (ex. brochures, flyers), and other items such as displays
  • Manage Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social media accounts with relevant, shareable content appropriate for each particular medium to increase followers and overall community engagement
  • Identify appropriate tools to gather social media data, complete analytics and develop recommendations for utilization, etc. as appropriate
  • With input from other staff, develop and produce external newsletter aimed at community stakeholders and donors
  • Coordinate website content-ensure that new and consistent information (HW operational information, article links, stories, and events) is posted regularly and develop new content as appropriate
  • Oversee external website management contract
  • In collaboration with other departments, including Human Resources, assist in the development and implementation of an organizational intranet and provide ongoing management of this tool
  • Working with team (ex. CEO, CFO,) oversee development and production of Annual Report
  • Develop relationships with local media, and identify opportunities for engagement with local media; as appropriate reach out to local media seeking engagement opportunities
  • Serve as HealthWorks' spokesperson when needed
  • Direct community information requests to appropriate staff members
  • Ensure center signage and other marketing materials are current regarding hours, services, etc
  • Identify opportunities and strategies for growth in the donor base.
  • Develop messaging and packaging, with other staff, for annual social media fundraising campaigns to include GiveChoose and Giving Tuesday
  • Design and implement, with other appropriate staff, annual online recognition and fundraising event (ex. silent auction)
  • Manage the HW designated donation sites such as Network for Good
  • Lead the Community Engagement Committee of the HW Board of Directors, including development of messaging for Board dissemination
  • Design and produce donor acknowledgement tools
  • Attend community meetings and events as appropriate, and provide information about HW and its services
  • Participate in organizational strategic planning activities
  • Attend relevant continuing education events and training
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
 
Position Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in communication or related field, and experience in public relations, editing, and other communication tools. Experience with various graphic design tools a plus. Excellent customer service and communications skills required.
