Category Information Technology  

- Perform database maintenance (administering, monitoring and maintaining all MarkLogic database tasks such as configuration, maintenance, creation of 8 databases and database objects, maintenance plans, monitor server jobs, executing scripts, performing backups and restores, etc.).

-Provide technical and operational support for MarkLogic development, test, and production environments.

-Perform MarkLogic Upgrades as required to maintain N/N-1. The contractor shall perform non-standard (named instances, multiple instances, add ’l components, etc.) MarkLogic server installations. In addition, the contractor shall do patching for MarkLogic Server installations on development, test, and production environments

-Assist in developing and documenting MarkLogic server related procedures, as well as implement remediation plans for MarkLogic server security related findings

-Perform Incident Management and Root cause analysis of all MarkLogic server database related issues and report within the established ITOCC Incident handling methods.

-Design, develop, and maintain code modifications and data integrity on both development, test, and production servers.

Position Requirements

-Understanding of IRS IT. An understanding of the IRS IT organization – its structure, processes, and leadership approach – is also desired.

-Understand Interdependencies. Contractors must understand the interdependencies and how to work within each ACIO area, across each ACIO area, and with the IRS business units.

-Consulting & Engagement. Contractors must have expert consulting resources with 10+ years of experience in communications and stakeholder engagement providing both strategy and execution support.

-Collaboration. Consultants must have the ability to work seamlessly with in-house resources and other vendors. They should also possess an exceptionally strong work ethic, self-motivation, curiosity, and drive.

-Filing Season. Contractors should have extensive experience providing the services described above for Filing Season delivery and other large-scale IT initiatives and service-wide technology deployments, preferably at the IRS and within EOPS.

- CIO and EOPS Executives. Contractors should have previous experiences with EOPS and engagement with the CIO and EOPS executive teams and be extremely well[1]versed in the vehicles, processes and practices for delivering stakeholder communications.

-ACIO Filing Season Interdependencies. Contractors must understand Filing Season interdependencies and how to work within each ACIO area, across each ACIO area, and with the IRS business units.

-Business Unit (BU) Internal Communications. Contractors must have extensive experience coordinating internal communications and tasks with Business Units across the IRS organization. They must have experience coordinating complex technology rollouts and organizational changes.

-Technical Writing. Contractors must have experience working with and adhering to the IRS ELC, Associated Press (AP) Style Guide, Federal Plain Language Guidelines, Section 508 Compliance, Internal Revenue Brand Guidelines, Service-wide Internal Communications Writing Checklist, Planning Guides and Publications.

- Marklogic Skillset Profile. The work history of each Contractor employee shall contain experience directly related to the tasks and functions to be assigned. Personnel utilized by the contractor in the performance of this contract shall, as a minimum, meet the experience requirements set forth below and shall be fully capable of performing in an efficient, reliable, and professional manner:

• Knowledge of MarkLogic best practices

• 5-7 years of progressive MarkLogic support in an Enterprise environment

• 5-7 years of experience with Linux in a Highly Available infrastructure

• Knowledge of and experience in Amazon Web Services (AWS)

• MarkLogic Certified Administrator

• Proficient in MarkLogic server database management such as (Creating, administering, managing and tuning MarkLogic database Instances, etc.)

• Experience with Disaster Recovery Plan implementation and High-Availability methods (including HA Clustering, Replication, sharding, and Mirroring)

• Creating Service Accounts, MarkLogic binary installation, establishing the backup methodology, and Application integration testing

• Experience with performance issue troubleshooting/tuning

• Experience/knowledge of backup/restore of large databases (terabytes)

• Proficiency with all aspects of the MarkLogic ecosystem.

• Experience with MarkLogic database migration techniques and beyond

• Experience with MarkLogic database administration 10.x. Experienced Senior

MarkLogic DBA with 5-10 years of experience
