Description

Full-Time | Monday - Friday | 40 hours per week

Multi-specialty medical group with approximately 35 providers at this location!

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: Operates radiologic equipment to make clinical diagnostic x-ray images as directed by physicians or nurse practitioners and performs routine diagnostic procedures.

  1. Positions patients and adjusts equipment for taking x-rays following established procedures.
  2. Instructs patients regarding procedures. Observes patients for vital signs during x-ray examination.
  3. Follows prescribed safety standards in operating radiologic equipment.
  4. Selects length and intensity for radiation exposure by adjusting equipment on an individual patient basis.
  5. Examines radiologic image for properties such as density and contrast, definition, magnification, and distortion.
  6. Authorizes release of patients upon completion of radiologic examination.
  7. Maintains x-ray examinations rooms. Stocks necessary medical and radiologic supplies.
  8. Expose and send image via digital system (PACS) to physician for reading and interpretation.
  9. Cleans and makes minor adjustments to radiologic equipment.
  10. Responsible for daily/monthly log reports.
 
Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High School Diploma or GED required
  2. Completion of course in radiology technology approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  3. Minimum of one year of experience as a radiologic technologist preferred.
  4. Current certification (ARRT) with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

PERFORMANCE QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to perform x-ray resting.
  2. Knowledge of radiology equipment.
  3. Knowledge of safety hazards common to radiology, including equipment, body mechanics, and patient movement.
  4. Skill in properly positioning patients.
  5. Skill in identifying equipment problems.
  6. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.
  7. Ability to apply written guidelines and standardized work practices. Ability to communicate clearly.
