Share Email Opening Title Salton Sea Monitoring Biologists   Location Southern CA Offices   Category Environmental Consulting   Description LSA is seeking experienced and qualified biologists for a position as an hourly project-hire Biological Monitor to assist in maintaining compliance during construction activities. Field work could include conducting nesting bird surveys, burrowing owl surveys, and biological construction monitoring for a project along the Salton Sea. Qualifications include familiarity with birds and other wildlife found at the Salton Sea as well as the ability to work long hours in adverse weather conditions (e.g., hot temperatures). Candidates must have the experience required to be approved by California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) to work on the project. Compensation is commensurate with experience.   Position Requirements Prior experience with these or similar types of field studies is highly recommended. Construction monitoring experience that includes interacting with a contractor and working around construction equipment is a plus. Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree or higher in biology, botany, ecology, environmental science, natural resources, or a closely related discipline. The positions require the candidates to be capable of strenuous fieldwork under adverse weather conditions.
