Turning Point Community Programs is seeking a Therapist at our Providence Center Program to work embedded with Nevada County Child Welfare. Turning Point Community Programs Nevada County Embedded Child Welfare Therapist will be placed at the Brighton Greens location supporting individuals in the Child Welfare System that are working to meet the requirements outlined by the court to reunite with their children as well as those individuals involved in CalWorks seeking to advance their personal mental health recovery journey in hopes of securing increased independence in the community to include sustainable employment. GENERAL PURPOSE

Under the administrative supervision of the Assistant Program Director or Program Director, this position is responsible for providing individual and group therapy to members to support their therapeutic process.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

This is an at-will direct service position within a program. The position supports clients/members with gathering the necessary information to complete their assessments and treatment plans.  Will provide individual and group therapy to our members to support their therapeutic process. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – (ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY)

  • Provides group and individual therapy/counseling under supervision of clinical or program director.
  • Provides psycho-education in group, family or individual format; makes recommendations for improvement in clinical program; will have input on clinical issues as part of the clinical team.
  • Provides consultation as necessary on clinical issues.
  • Consult with or meets regularly with the client’s family, care provider or other significant persons with client’s consent.
  • Develop individual service plans for each client and empowers clients in meeting their goals; assists teams with development of service plans that reflect measurable objectives.
  • Advocate for and assists clients and their families in accessing and receiving mental health treatment, medical care, housing, food and clothing as indicated.
  • Completes regular Internal Utilization Reviews- under direction of Clinical Director; reviews and ensures timely completion of Special Incident Reports, as well as Mandated Reports.
  • Assists the Clinical Director in all areas of clinical program development as needed including KET tracking.
  • Provide “on-the-spot” counseling that is both helpful to the clients and consistent with the philosophy of the program.
  • Attends to the safety, health, and wellbeing of the clients.
  • Complete paperwork as assigned in a timely manner and meets agency standard for billable units per month; ensure that all notes meet billing standards for content and configuration.
  • Problem solves communication difficulties between staff and clients by providing interventions to enhance communication.
  • Drives on agency/program business utilizing personal vehicle; visits clients in home periodically to provide direction and support.
  • Attends staff meetings unless approval for non-attendance is secured from the Program Director and/or his/ her designee.
  • Provides after hours, “on-call” coverage to program clients.

  • Common office software such as MS Office.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm (various shifts available, full-time or part-time)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION STARTING COMPENSATION: $28.00 - 30.31 per hour with $3,000-dollar sign on bonus

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION STARTING COMPENSATION: $30.00 - 32.47 per hour with a $3000-dollar sign on bonus

Position Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES

Education, Training and Experience

A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined above is through graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field and active registration with the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS).

Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:

  • Valid registration with the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS)
  • California driver’s license & current vehicle insurance/registration 
  • Reliable means of transportation capable of passing vehicle safety inspection if more than five years old excluding all modes of two-wheeled transport inclusive of bicycles, mopeds and motorcycles.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES

Education, Training and Experience

A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined above is through graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field; four (4) years of clinical experience as a provider of mental health services and full licensure as a LCSW, MFT, or LPCC verified through registration with the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS).

Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:

  • California driver’s license & current vehicle insurance/registration if driving; and,
  • Reliable means of transportation capable of passing vehicle safety inspection if more than five years old excluding all modes of two-wheeled transport inclusive of bicycles, mopeds and motorcycles.
  • Registration with BBS or CA Board of Psychology
