Social Work School Based Workshop Facilitator

EOE StatementWe are an equal employment opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status or any other characteristic protected by law.

BSW or MSW, part-time, temp needed initially for 6 weeks starting the end of August, but could become longer-term and permanent.

Get trained to be a facilitator of a pop up makerspace that uses making, coding, and robotics to facilitate the therapeutic process. This cutting-edge program leverages instructional robots and Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math, and Mindfulness (STEAM +M) to increase problem solving skills, communication, and cooperation amongst children facing family trauma.

Position Requirements

The ideal social work facilitator has a flexible schedule that allows them to run a daily workshop throughout the school week for 6 weeks (about 15-20 hours/week, and when the workshop ends after 6 weeks, most likely the social worker will have the ability to continue to run additional workshops). The social worker facilitator also likes the vibrant nature of creating pop up makerspaces (show up to the target school with the toolbox filled with robotics and play therapy supplies!); has a strong understanding of the possible effects of Family Medical Trauma and/or Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs); and has worked with underserved youth and families.

Lastly (and importantly), the social worker enjoys tech and tinkering around with computers and programs. The social worker doesn't need to be a coding expert, but enjoying technology and having a curiosity to learn more about and solve tech issues is the right social worker for the job! The position is ideal for a BSW or newer MSW.
