General Description
As a commercial painter you will be responsible for having familiarity with different industrial surfaces and be responsible for priming, coating, power washing, and general aesthetic maintenance of interior and exterior of commercial buildings, steel, equipment and structures. Your role may also involve maintaining equipment and working with others on a job site. You must observe and follow all OSHA and company safety policies and procedures in executing your job.
Responsibilities and Physical Requirements
- Responsible for the application of varnish, polyurethane, primer, paint, and other specialty coatings
- Choose premixed paints or mix the required pigment, oil, thinning or drying substances to match the color spec
- Mask and prepare structure surfaces for coatings
- Blend and reduce paint systems and apply paint to meet specifications
- Clean and maintain equipment by removing all traces of paint
- Repair and remodel imperfections
- Prepare and protect work surfaces with drop cloths and masking
- Responsible for loading, unloading, and preparing and cleaning of job sites, materials, and tools
- Provide quality work and take corrective action for conditions that may affect job quality
- Utilize brush, spray gun, or paint roller to accurately paint various surfaces
- Install specified nozzles in spray guns, replace screens and filters and maintain the sprayer
- Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds
- Understand that you will be exposed to machinery, toxic chemicals, and that there is a physical risk involved
- Must be able to assemble, execute usage and disassemble ladders and scaffolds if necessary for worksite usage.

- Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks and commitment to meeting and exceeding deadlines and goals.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment screenings.
Education
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 3 years experience in custom finish work
- Knowledge of Taping and Floating Drywall, Drywall Finishing, and floor coatings a plus
