Volunteer Coordinator Full-time 

Position Details Volunteer Coordinator  
Shift Hours 8:00am - 4:30pm  
Number of Bi-weekly Hours 72 hours (9 days per bi-weekly pay period)  
Days of the week M-F  
Weekends/Holidays Varies

The Volunteer and Community Engagment Coordinator will support the Frederick Living Mission of caring for and enriching the lives of older adults with the following essential responsibilities:

  • Oversee the volunteer program including recruitment, training, and placement of volunteers.
  • Organize annual volunteer appreciation celebration.
  • Build relationships with external partners for collaborative initiatives and programming.
  • Coordinates internships with local colleges.
  • Good organizational and computer skills.
  • Create and execute an annual work plan.
  • Oversee the budget for Volunteer & Community Engagement.
  • Organize and manage Frederick Living’s Social Accountability Program.
  • Provide oversight and coordination for campus-wide fundraising efforts related to social accountability (raising funds or items for local food pantries, etc.).
  • Provide oversight to campus events that are open to the public, such as Train Show/Fall Festival.
  • Assist various departments with events and fundraisers through volunteer coordination and external partnership support.
  • Abide by the organization’s code of conduct.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to hear, see and speak adequately (with or without accommodations) to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Ability to reach, perform repetitive movement actions, walk, stand and sit for long periods of time to adequately perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to work in inside environmental conditions.

Along with an excellent work ethic, successful candidates will have:

  • Four year degree preferred.
  • Experience in leading volunteer programs and building collaborative partnerships required.
  • Experience working with older adults helpful. Experience managing initiatives and events.
