And because Fusion is growing rapidly, we offer considerable opportunity for career growth.   Pay Range   Hours   Location FGA Remote   Description Position Summary: Fusion Global Academy College and Career Readiness Seminar Mentor Teachers provide student support for post-secondary options including college, gap year, technical programs, and career planning through teaching a for credit junior and senior seminar elective course in our 1:1 model. Responsibilities Include: Provide a one-to-one teaching experience to students in their junior and senior seminar courses through 25 50-minute session terms following a robust curriculum. Show evidence of adapting and differentiated instruction for all students and a classroom forum for holistic growth. Maintain complete and accurate records. Develop and maintain genuine, positive and consistent communication with parents. Contribute to and benefit from the campus community. Practice professionalism through ongoing professional development, reflection and continuous improvement. In addition to subject matter tutoring and teaching, this position includes significant student mentoring. Assisting students in identifying suitable post-secondary options, colleges and universities that match their career goals through utilizing interest inventories, including SCOIR. Advising students on all aspects of the college admissions process, including test preparation plans, personal statement and essays, Common App process and financial planning. Writing well-crafted and detailed recommendation letters, submit school reports, registration and accommodations for standardized testing. Collaborating and communicating with colleges and universities to ensure admission requirements have been met. Assisting students with alternative post-secondary option exploration. Other duties as assigned.     Position Requirements Desired Qualifications: Candidate must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and ideally hold a certificate in college or post-secondary counseling or have significant experience in college and career planning with students. This person must have thorough knowledge of the college admissions process and expertise assisting students in navigating a complex college search and admissions process. A thorough knowledge of special accommodations and deadlines for the SAT, AP, and ACT is critical. Candidates should have knowledge of alternative post-secondary options such as vocational or gap year programs and be able to support students in preparing for the workforce or finding internship opportunities.
