Oklahoma Electric Cooperative is currently accepting applications for Key Accounts Associate. This is a full-time position located in Norman, OK.

OEC is a nonprofit electric cooperative and is owned by those we serve—our members. We work for our members, not for distant investors. That means any revenue we make in excess of the cost to do business is returned to our members—similar to profits made by investor-owned utilities being distributed among their shareholders. The Key Accounts Associate is responsible for providing information and data to maintain positive business relationships with OEC key accounts and members. This position supports the Key Accounts Specialist by creating reports, analyzing data, and assisting members regarding rate structures, usage, energy efficiency, and other matters.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assists the Key Accounts Specialist with commercial and key account members.
    • Provides information on services offered by the Cooperative, rates, policies, and procedures.
    • Converses with members, providing technical advice and assistance and performing rate comparisons.
    • Assists with resolving member complaints by researching problems and developing solutions.
  • Conducts research, compiles data, and prepares reports.
    • Verifies accuracy and completeness of data, researching discrepancies and updating as needed.
    • Performs calculations, comparisons, and evaluations.
    • Analyzes and interprets information, making recommendations as appropriate.
  • Acquires knowledge of and masters all relevant rate information, including rate compliance and combined usage groups.
    • Calculates and analyzes various rates, energy usage, and demand as needed.
    • Develops projections of usage and demand changes.
    • Reviews and analyzes rate change requests.
  • Maintains business relationships with current and prospective commercial members.
    • Attends community clubs, meetings, events, and networking activities.
    • Represents OEC in organizations which pertain to the functions of the department and/or Cooperative or in which participation would be beneficial, promoting the member-owned, community-oriented functions of the Cooperative.
    • Assists with and coordinates activities related to commercial and key accounts member service, such as OEC and WFEC sponsored/hosts events.
  • May assist with developing clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective members, including rate information, rate comparisons, service reliability information, references.
    1. Prepares contract forms as requested.
  • Assists with analysis of the territory and market potential and determines the value of existing and prospective member’s value to the Cooperative.

Ideal candidates meet the following qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years' experience OR Associate's degree
    • Experience should be of a progressively increasing responsibility in researching, maintaining positive relationships with consumers and the public, customer service, or a related field. Experience in sales and/or marketing is preferred.
    • Education should be in Business, Electrical, Energy, or a related field.
  • Strong verbal and writing skills
  • Basic accounting knowledge
  • Basic computer skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, specifically Microsoft Excel
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat PDF
  • Qualities of: analyzing information and using logic to address tasks; identifying complex problems and reviewing related info to develop and evaluate options; attention to detail; establishing and maintaining personally challenging goals; guiding oneself with minimal supervision
