Position Location/Summary:

You will work closely with the technical engineering team, developing software for medical laser systems. The position is located in Palo Alto, California and is not remote.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop software for embedded systems from requirements to production
  • Design, develop, code, test, and debug system software
  • Bringing up new boards from scratch
  • Write device drivers for Timers, DAC's, ADC's, SPI, I2C, USB etc.
  • Interface with hardware design and development
  • Write test documents for medical systems
  • Support software QA
  • Provide post-production support

 

 
Position Requirements

 

Essential Requirements:

  • 2 years of direct experience as an Embedded Software Developer.
  • Work in the medical device industry a plus.
  • BS degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • Solid programming experience in C or C++
  • Proven experience in real-time embedded systems design
  • Experience with ARM microcontrollers
  • Experience in hands-on development and debugging
  • Familiarity with software configuration management tools
  • Adequate knowledge of reading schematics and component data sheets
  • Strong documentation and writing skills

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of software systems and programming languages.
  • Proficient with software engineering tools and applications.
