Description

GENERAL PURPOSE

A Drafter is responsible for the drafting and preparation of documents, maps, and design drawings utilizing AutoCAD, NDS, and other software systems and databases. They are expected to deliver high quality project designs, plans, as-built, field notes and drawings per customer’s requirements and expectations.The successful candidate in this position must possess a basic knowledge of telecom and power engineering & construction, be flexible and solution oriented, have excellent communication skills with a commitment to customer service.

 
Position Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 2 years drafting/engineering experience

  • A.S. degree in Engineering, and/or AutoCAD certification

  • Good verbal and written communications skills

  • Ability to prepare written and oral reports

  • Ability to read, understand, and prepare drawings, diagrams, and other documents

  • Ability to learn, research, prepare, submit, and acquire all types of permits and easements

  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships

  • Attention to detail

  • Must possess proficient skills and knowledge in:

    • New Developments, Subdivision and MDU designs and drafting
    • Aerial, buried, and underground designs and drafting

  • Telco industry software and databases such as; AutoCAD, Visio, MicroStation, NDS

  • Basic knowledge of:

    • Telecom/power engineering and construction principles & practices
    • Fiber, Copper, and COAX design and drafting

    • Fireworks and Bidmaster experience will be a plus

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Idaho Driver’s License is required within two weeks of employment

  • Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background check and a pre-employment drug screen

  • Authorization to work in the US
