Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Part-Time Housekeeper will be responsible for performing routine duties associated with the day-to-day activities of the Operations Department. Duties include, but not limited to: Manual labor, cleaning, general upkeep of the facility, compliance with equipment handling guidelines, equipment storage, operating mechanical equipment, equipment inspections, general housekeeping and custodial duties, policing public areas and such other duties as required by the Management. This position reports to the Head of Housekeeping, MOD Housekeeping Shift Lead.

TYPICAL WORK ROUTINE INCLUDES, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

1. Extensive walking throughout the facility and facility grounds.

2. Lift moderate to heavy amounts of weight in the form of trash or discarded items including equipment and event supplies.

3. Push equipment carts, pallets or other dollies as required.

4. Cleaning composition floors, carpet, glass, stainless steel, painted surfaces, porcelain, chromed surfaces, plastic surfaces, mirrors, quarry tile, concrete, and woodwork.

5. Mopping, stripping, waxing, and sealing composition floors.

6. Vacuuming and shampooing/extracting carpets.

7. Policing and cleaning restroom areas and public areas.

8. Dusting and vacuuming office furniture and draperies.

9. Walking, standing, sitting, stooping, and lifting objects as required.

10. Implementation of basic cleaning methods as required in the maintenance of exterior grounds and interior areas.

11. Completion of tasks assigned in compliance with basic safety guidelines.

12. Sweeping, mopping and removing trash, dirt, water, and ice as required.

13. Performing grounds maintenance during inclement weather as required.

14. Completion of tasks and daily assignments as assigned in a cooperative manner.

15. Perform general manual labor associated with set-up, custodial, maintenance, or housekeeping functions.

16. Maintain public image of the Operations Department at all times when in the service of The Classic Center.

17. Maintain an irregular work schedule as required by the Head of Housekeeping for the servicing of scheduled events and routing assignments within The Classic Center.

18. Such other duties, functions, special projects, and responsibilities as assigned by the Shift Leader or MOD.

 

 
Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Up to one (1) year experience in a set-up or related position.

2. Up to one (1) year experience in a custodial/housekeeping position.

3. Ability to demonstrate basic set-up techniques with a working knowledge of set-up principles, procedures, and equipment use.

4. Ability to demonstrate basic cleaning techniques.

5. Ability to perform manual tasks requiring physical strength and perform reasonably heavy labor.

6. Ability to operate heavy mechanized equipment.

7. Ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions accurately.

8. Related training and experience gained which offers a further understanding of set-up, custodial, house- and grounds-keeping techniques is desirable.
