Job Description/Overview

The E-Commerce Manager will directly report to the Vice Presidents of Sales & Marketing. The E-Commerce Manager is responsible for guiding and directing SSH hotels, as well as directly managing SSH online sites (to include the property's websites, company's website, all 3rd party online sites) in all aspects of social media/e-commerce duties/initiatives, such as online content management, SEO/PPC Optimization, email marketing campaigns, reputation management, as well as seek online marketing opportunities to maximize direct web traffic.

The E-Commerce Manager must be a detail oriented, hands-on individual who understands e-commerce strategies and can effectively work with and communicate with team members to deliver results.

Job Functions include, but not limited to:

  • Develop long and short term strategic activities aimed at increasing market share and increasing direct revenue.
  • Direct, educate and assist property teams in digital best practices including, but not limited to, search engine marketing, Online Travel Agency site optimizations, Brand website optimization, online demand generation channels, social media, email marketing, online reputation management and overall online representation.
  • Manage content & photography updates on portfolio & StepStone websites, as well as keeping all information and content up to date by using brand and OTA tools, content management systems and/or external agency resources. Content must be fresh, engaging and position each hotel relative to competitive set.
  • Develop Social Media strategies and execute in a timely manner on relevant platforms as needed. Actively post, engage with users, create advertising campaigns, track impact, analyze data and communicate ROI to stakeholders.
  • Provide current and accurate financial information, ad hoc reporting and executive overview to ownership and senior management as requested.
  • Conduct targeted weekly/monthly/quarterly property calls and visits to review website performance, SEO and PPC results and to discuss any other relevant e-commerce and online marketing issues at the property level.
  • Interact with Brand personnel, external web & online vendors and other partners to ensure our properties receive appropriate attention and full benefit of these resources.
  • Provide guidance and direction to vendor website building teams, ensuring that SEO and user experience best practices are applied, Brand standards are followed, and revenue is readily tracked.
  • Maintain awareness of all applicable brand standards and guidelines.
  • Assist in the pre-opening strategy and protocol designed to drive visibility and maximize ramp-up of new hotels.
  • Evaluate emerging channels and technologies. Provide thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate.
