Description

The Warranty Manager will manage a team of vehicle quality & warranty engineers in the US market, that will be working with product engineering, quality engineering, logistics, service engineering and service center teams to meet launch & continuous quality metrics and administer warranty programs for all new & current products.

This position will also be responsible for detailing the quality metrics, defining processes, escalation, establishing reporting cadence to local US & Vietnam management teams on all product quality activities and provide required support to facilitate resolution of customer issues in the market. This role will need to provide market specific risk assessments, feedback to engineering, and quality organizations in Vietnam, as necessary in support of establishing quality metrics at the onset of new programs. The Warranty Manage will take initiatives to improve, quality/warranty cost basis for current products and customer service satisfaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES & KEY ACTIVITIES:

  • Manage day to day activities of the quality and warranty staff
  • Establish quality metrics, track & report to management
  • Establish best practices & formalize processes
  • Assist vehicle compliance teams in support of regulatory reporting requirements and investigations
  • Manage warranty return parts center facilities and staff
  • Continuous improvement to deliver on business objectives
 
Position Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s in engineering
  • 15+ years of experience, primarily in the automotive industry with experience in product, quality, manufacturing or service engineering
  • Management experience in engineering, plant or service settings focused on quality
  • Green or black belt in DFSS certification a plus
  • OEM experience with an understanding of industry standard cross functional roles, responsibilities, and processes with emphasis on driving quality in product and/or services a plus
  • Experience in quality, warranty and root cause analysis
  • Knowledge & understanding of regulatory warranty reporting requirements and recall administration a plus
  • Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to problem solve & ad-hoc means to address customer related issues
