Benefits Coordinator

$50,000.00 - $54,000.00 Salary/year

Position Summary:

The Benefits Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing benefits for both global workers and headquarters staff. This includes working directly with WorldVenture’s insurance broker in the annual revision of the medical plan, and assisting in the negotiation and set up of stop-loss insurance, evacuation insurance, life insurance, disability, Flexible Spending Account and Aflac Insurance. The Benefits Coordinator will also serve as the liaison with the third party administrator and as an advocate regarding claims, assist global workers and headquarters staff with their questions, and provide communication regarding procedures and policies. As a vital member of the Personnel Ministries Department, the Benefits Coordinator will work in collaboration with the Director of Personnel Ministries, the Health Consultant, as well as all divisions within the organization.

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Oversee benefit plans, enrollment and renewal process
  • Assist with annual update and plan design changes for all benefit plans
  • Function as a resource for claims, billing, and insurance matters for global workers and headquarters staff and provide advocacy as necessary
  • Function as primary contact and liaison between WorldVenture and third party administrator for medical plan
  • Collaborate with supervisor regarding policies, procedures, benefit specifics, insurance contracts and negotiation, and department exceptions
  • Serve as benefits resource for all departments
  • Coordinate all communication from third party administrator for medical plan
  • Coordinate Health and Medical Department third party administrator and IT reporting and produce statistics for future direction and decision-making
  • Monitor U.S. laws related to the medical plan
  • Collaborate with other departments regarding global worker medical situations and any accompanying financial details as necessary
  • Assist Medical Department information presentations to global workers during trainings and home assignments
  • Collaborate with Health Consultant regarding global worker medical needs and treatment
  • Assist with the coordination of medical evacuations with the global workers and the medical evacuation company
  • Coordinate admission to treatment facilities and hospitals as needed
  • Write or update medical policies for leadership approval
  • Maintain all medical files in compliance with all US laws
  • Coordinate proof of insurance letters for visa, notarizations, and apostilles.
  • Provide financial data and reports to Finance Department as requested.
  • Serve as HIPAA Privacy officer, maintaining legal updates, keeping HIPAA manual up to date
  • Administer HRA account

Education and Formal Training:

  • Minimum of undergraduate or associate’s degree
  • Experience with medical insurance and billing required
  • Experience with other forms of benefits desired
