Retail Lending Quality Specialist

This position involves the individual being able to multi-task and exhibit effective leadership in several different functional areas of The Lending Center. This person will need to maintain a solid working knowledge of lending policies and procedures in order to lead both TLC and financial center lending staff to greater levels of workflow consistency and efficiency. This person will also be responsible for the analysis, breakdown and refinement of lending processes and workflows in order to reveal barriers to peak efficiency and profitability.

 

Specific Accountabilities

  • Deliver outstanding service to both internal and external service that meets or exceeds our Service Promises.
  • Completion of all required compliance training to include BSA.
  • Meet or exceed established sales and service goals.
  • Must possess effective knowledge of the Credit Union’s products and services.
  • Make on-site visits to the financial centers, as directed by the Manager of Retail Lending, in order to address individual/group lender training needs related to lending workflows within the organization’s LOS (loan operating system).
  • Mentor financial center lending staff to enhance their understanding and utilization of the loan operating system, along with consistent adherence to organizationally adopted lending procedures will be key areas of personal accountability.
  • Assist with system testing related to upgrades and software releases for both the Core system platform and the LOS (loan origination system) being utilized by the organization.
  • Assist with underwriting of consumer loans, including real estate secured loans (all types of HELOCS).
  • Must be able to successfully analyze and develop improvements in order to provide additional products to both direct and indirect members.
  • Additional leadership/mentoring duties as assigned by the Manager of Retail Lending
 
Position Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge related to both the Core (host) system and the LOS origination system that allows this individual to conduct extensive testing prior to upgrades and regularly scheduled software releases.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with all levels of management, employees and members.
  • Needs to be an abstract thinker who can effectively look “outside the box” in order to offer valid ideas as to how maximum time and cost savings could be achieved.
  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and offer personalized and proactive solutions.
  • Knowledge of Allegacy products and services and the ability to cross-sell.
  • Creativity with regards to examining current performance review process and offer ideas about possible implementations that will ensure clear metrics to measure individual accountability across all functional areas.
  • Must be able to initiate and follow through with adjustments that are deemed necessary to the overall lending process even when faced with resistance/opposition from key players.
  • Must be able to articulate to others exactly what is expected of them in order to be a more effective link in the lending chain of events.
  • Must possess Intellectual Curiosity and be willing to depart from past practices in order to help the overall lending process reach its peak performance potential.

 

Education and Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in business or related degree preferred.
  • Seven years of related consumer lending experience with a comparable (asset size) financial institution.
  • 5 or more years of consumer loan underwriting experience preferred.
  • Experience working with IA Velocity LOS and/or Miser Fidelity Host System preferred.
  • Previous exposure to Retail/Consumer loan operating systems utilizing interface application technology preferred.
  • Specific training and knowledge associated with credit union lending concepts, procedures and documentation.
