Description

The Software Development Manager designs and defines the technical roadmap for the organization. The position oversees a team of software developers and leads projects from an inception of an idea to a production delivery. The role leads problem solving architectural design dives into the details of the code when necessary.

 

 

Strategic Architectural Contribution:

  • Leads and drives architectural direction and software development in accordance with LERETA’s strategic business objectives
  • Systems Delivery:
  • Leads the delivery of our products and solutions to meet market competitive needs
  • Leads the support of production systems to meet or exceed customer Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) expectations

Requirement Identification:

  • Works closely with Product Development to identify product requirements and works with the team to prioritize features and enhancements
  • Collaborates and coordinates deployment support with IT and DevOps teams
  • Develops, reviews, and approves technical design documents
  • Monitors and reviews code, estimates, work in progress, and solutions produced by developers
  • Collaborates and coordinates Quality Assurance (QA) support activities with QA Team throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Tracks and assists with establishing and enforcing standards and sound development methodologies
  • Collaborates and coordinates activities for Change Control Management

Leadership:

  • Develops and implements plans to cross-train team in processes, products, and technologies to develop high-availability
  • Provides coaching to employees in areas specific to key performance indicators and career growth
  • Represents the team at interdepartmental meetings and facilitates the team’s decision-making process
  • Provides recommendations and implements action plans to improve departmental performance and cost-effectiveness
  • This position will perform other duties as assigned based on the needs of the department

 

 
Position Requirements

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA) in Computer Science or in a closely related field
  • 5+ years of experience in Director or Managerial role
  • 10+ years of experience leading and motivating development teams
  • Minimum of 15 years of software development experience
  • 10+ years’ experience with one or more of the following technologies: .NET, .NET Core along with Azure, ASP.NET, MVC, or Node, Java, React, and relational databases and data analytics, such as Microsoft® SQL Server™ and Oracle™
  • 5+ years’ experience with modern SPA frameworks like Angular, React, etc.,
  • 5+ years’ experience with version control technologies like Microsoft Team Foundation Server, AzureDevOps, GitHub, Subversion, etc.,
  • 5+ years’ experience with build automation tools like Jenkins, AzureDevOps, Bamboo, TFS, etc.

Preferred Education & Experience

  • Successfully led large scale cloud migration initiatives in Cloud, in Azure, cloud platforms
  • Deep experience in Containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, etc.,
  • Solid understanding of Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform
  • Expert level understanding of Build Automation and Modern Dev Ops practices
  • Deep understanding of test automation framework and integration with CI/CD processes.
  • Experience in digital transformation from on-prem to cloud, including SDLC methodology transition from waterfall to agile
  • SAFe experience
