Description

JOB PURPOSE:

Ensure the prompt and accurate payment of Veterans’ eligible program expenses to third party providers. Document and maintain thorough records.

 
Position Requirements

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate and process Temporary Financial Assistance payments to third party providers for approved expenses as part of the client’s service plan; Confirm receipt of payments; and submit TFA to Financial Assistance and Quality Assurance Coordinator on a weekly basis.
  • Upload credit card receipts and appropriate forms to Concur software, and submit reports twice a month. Keep detailed records of payments made. Update client case file appropriately and enter information into HMIS database and Salesforce software.
  • Conduct periodic peer to peer Quality Assurance audit of Temporary Financial Assistance (TFA) to include, TFA logs, client files, HMIS, Salesforce and making necessary corrections to ensure SSVF Program remains in compliance. Maintain compliance and adhere to policies and procedure found in the financial manual.
  • Assisting with administrative duties, including but not limited to copying, faxing, notetaking, mail retrieval and distribution and coordinating travel arrangements for office staff.
  • Complete data entry for enrollments and exits. Verify accuracy on data entry and maintain compliance with HUD and VA Data Standards. Generate recurring data reports and ad hoc reports as requested by leadership. Attend HMIS trainings, meetings, and webinars.
  • Contact landlords and other third-party providers. Obtain missing data, provide updated status of payment information, make payments, etc. Occasionally drop of checks, go to post office, and purchase supplies.
  • Submit monthly VA Repository Uploads and make corrections if necessary.
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service, in everything you do, by placing the child, family, Veteran or client first to support our mission to “Empower people to build better lives for themselves, their families and their communities.”

 

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: High School or equivalent reading and writing skills. Associate’s degree in accounting preferred.

EXPERIENCE: 6+ months experience in accounting, bookkeeping, and/or auditing, 1 year preferred; 6+ months exp in a heavy customer service focused environment; 1 year preferred. Experience with HMIS and VA Repository a plus. Experience in a social service environment a plus.

ATTENDANCE: Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the employer’s sole discretion.
