Position Summary:

This position verifies and coordinates all outbound sales orders with the Shipping Team to ensure all orders are accurately picked and shipped in a timely manner. This position maintains all proper documentation for domestic and export shipments while assembling outbound loads in the most cost-effective and efficient manner possible. The Shipping Coordinator will also complete inventory cycle counts as assigned and will maintain regular contact with our 3rd Party Logistics (3PL) to ensure timelines and plans are met. This position reports directly to the Shipping Manger.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Organizes loads according to pallet count and order destination
  • Prepares all shipping paperwork and interaction with truck drivers
  • Issues outbound orders to Shipping Warehouse Associates & tracks progress
  • Ensures all outbound orders are picked, loaded, and shipped on-time
  • Completes weekly cycle counting / inventory investigation as assigned by Shipping Manager
  • Run and distribute internal weekly shipping metrics reporting: pallets shipped, issues, late shipments etc.
  • Interacts with third party logistics companies to coordinate shipments
  • Analyzes shipping costs and works to identify and implement department savings opportunities
  • Analyzes shipments and works with shipping team to maximize trailer capacity and shipping efficiency
  • Manages projects related to finished goods inventory and/or shipping including, but not limited to organizing donations and rendering.
  • Works closely with cross functional departments like Customer Service, Finance, and production to ensure accurate order execution
  • Functions as a backup for the Shipping Manager as needed
  • Reviews product and notify staff of quality issues
  • Participates in required departmental Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) items
  • Complete other duties as assigned

 
Position Requirements

Candidate Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a high school degree or GED equivalent is required (An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a business or logistics related field is preferred)
  • A minimum of 2 years of warehouse experience is preferred.
  • Must have proficient written and verbal communication English skills
  • Must be able to do basic arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, and multiplication.
  • Must have strong computer skills with data accuracy & attention to detail
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Able to complete in house forklift certification
  • Experience with both motorized hand carts and upright lifts
  • Good time management and self-motivation is required

While performing the duties of this job, the employee:

  • Must have the ability to make coordinated movement of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble large and small objects.
  • Must be able to stand for entire shifts with periodic, bending, reaching, stooping and lifting up to 40 pounds repeatedly throughout the day.
  • Must be able to safely walk and work around machinery and knives.
  • Must be able to wear a hairnet, latex gloves, hearing protection, as well as any other PPE.
