A Fifth Group Expeditor's work and dedication is represented with every plate that leaves the kitchen. The Expeditor must combine recipe knowledge, leadership, and timeliness so as to result in a complete and joyful dining experience for guests.

Being a Fifth Group Expeditor requires the individual to take on significant leadership responsibility. Their primary responsibility is to coordinate the flow of dishes coming from the kitchen as well as insure that each plate is prepared, presented and timed perfectly. It requires a high degree of conscientiousness, accountability and professionalism. Expeditors must be calm under pressure and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining confidence, composure and ensuring the dishes leaving the kitchen are paced appropriately and of the highest quality. They must be able to adjust their communication methods to interact with front and back of house personnel as well as guests. They must be detail oriented and driven to exceed the guest's expectation.

  1. Maintain thorough product knowledge of all menus, ingredients, and preparation methods.
  2. Uphold Fifth Group standards of quality and freshness.
  3. Acts as the liaison between the kitchen and the service staff in a high pace, multi tasking environment
  4. Monitors progress of orders to ensure the kitchen is on track with timeliness standards.
  5. Consistently helps servers execute the 14 Elements of Connected Service.
  6. Knows and follows all applicable City, State and County food safety standards.
  7. Knowledgeable of FGR restaurant concepts and personnel
  8. Possesses the ability to work in Support Server role

Operations: We demand quality and are committed to profitability.

  1. Acts as the final quality check to review all dishes on an order and ensure that they are aligned with FGR standards before allowing them to be presented to guests.
  1. Runs food to guests, whenever necessary.
  2. Completes all assigned sidework, opening/closing duties, duration duties, and weekly cleaning projects.
  3. Ensures the pass through and storage areas are clean and organized.

Position Requirements

Physical Requirements

  • Constant standing and walking
  • Occasional stooping, kneeling and crawling
  • Occasional ascending or descending of ladders, stairs and/or ramps
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours per shift
  • Frequent, continual, intermittent flexing and rotation of the spine, elbows and wrists
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs on a regular and continuing basis
  • Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs, i.e. case of wine, full ice buckets, etc
  • Constant talking, expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken words and in the process of communicating with guests and employees
  • Constant use of POS/Computer systems
  • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment
