Description

Valley Community Services Board (VCSB) is looking for an Intercept 2 Rural Jail Rapid Diversion Clinician (RDC) to join our team! Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Behavioral Health and Emergency Services the Clinician is responsible for providing clinical services to individuals identified as having a Serious Mental Illness and have become judicially involved.  This position works closely with Blue Ridge Court Services Unit and functions as part of the Blue Ridge Criminal Justice Board Mental Health Jail Diversion Initiative.

This position is eligible for a $1500.00 sign-on bonus, Supervision for Licensure and one year Retention Bonus.

Essential Functions

  • Work closely with the Blue Ridge Court Services Unit to identify potential participants.
  • Assess individuals for eligibility/appropriateness.
  • Complete VCSB agency intake process to expedite engagement with clinical services, facilitate engagement in appropriate clinical services.
  • Coordinate services with VCSB Rapid Diversion Case Manager.
  • Attend Court as indicated, serve on the Therapeutic Docket Steering committee.
  • Coordinate Clinical Service Delivery and Case Management services.
  • The RDC will exercise considerable independence and autonomy in day-to-day decision making related to the delivery of clinical services to the identified population.

  • Good diagnostic, assessment, and emergency intervention skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good judgment and flexibility in highly stressful and unstructured situations.
 
Position Requirements

 

Requirements

  • Graduate degree with major course of study in Human Services accepted by the Virginia Department of Health Professions as a sufficient degree to allow licensure as a LCSW, LPC, LMFT or Licensed Substance Abuse Practitioner.
