Position Summary:

The Professional Fee Coder will apply appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes to individual patient health records for a variety of specialty physician services for claims processing, data retrieval and analysis.

 

 
Position Requirements

All Coding Positions require:

• Coding Credential Required: AHIMA or AAPC credential (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or COC)

Position Requirements:

  • CCS-P and/or CPC certification
  • 3-5 years of physician coding experience
  • 2 years of outpatient facility coding experience preferred
  • Must possess a thorough working knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding systems and modifier usage
  • Thorough knowledge of medical terminology and medical abbreviations
  • Must be able to read text for long periods of time from printed materials / computer
  • Behavioral Health or Dental coding experience is a plus
  • FQHC (Federally Qualified Health Care) coding experience is a plus
  • Teaching hospital (including coding for residents), Indian Health and/or Rural Health Clinic coding experience is a plus
  • RPMS Indian Health billing software experience is a plus

Technical Specifications:

  • Base download/upload internet speed of at least 5Mbps SATELLITE/HOT SPOT INTERNET IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.
