JOB DESCRIPTION

 

POSITION TITLE: Pouching Leader

TEAM: Pouching

BASIC FUNCTION:

Under the direction of and reporting to the Pouching Manager, the Pouching Lead is responsible for setting-up and operating conversion equipment to produce high quality goods in a manner that meets and exceed customer expectations and is responsible for leading all manufacturing positions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Coach, guide and develop employees on the performance of their work.
  2. Oversee employee scheduling assignments, issues and documentation to include hiring, promotion, and disciplinary actions.
  3. Trains new employees for Machine Operator position.
  4. Perform assigned audits in a timely manner.
  5. Setup and operate equipment to defined specifications for finished product.
  6. Load material onto machines.
  7. Perform quality inspections throughout job to ensure conformity to specifications.
  8. Perform machine adjustments to proactively keep product within specified tolerances.
  9. Oversee documentation of production activity and material traceability/usage calculations to determine finished quantities and line efficiencies.
  10. Provide back-up support to other positions on the production line.
  11. Perform all necessary preventative maintenance as required.
  12. Make suggestions for process improvements
  13. Monitor machine speeds to ensure efficiency of production.
  14. Identify and document failures and support identification of root cause for production issues.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.
 
Position Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

The ability to lead teams and people.

Strong mechanical aptitude required with the ability to problem solve and troubleshoot.

The ability to operate common hand and power tools.

Basic computer skills including experience with Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook.

Must be able to read a metric and standard ruler.

The ability to communicate effectively.

High school math skills.

The ability to multi-task.

Good organizational skills.

The ability to read blueprints a plus.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent.

2-3 years of manufacturing experience desired.

Leadership experience desired.
