The successful applicant must design, develop and implement efficient and effective systems and applications that adhere to industry best practices, pre-defined standards and internal procedures.  Exceptional technical analysis, development and implementation skills in current methodologies are required to successfully complete this position.  This position has no budget responsibilities or direct personnel management duties. 

 

Nature and Scope

 

Researches, designs, develops and implements software systems and business applications in conjunction with new and existing products and future development needs.  This position applies principles of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis in a best practices methodology. This position reports to the Manager of the Core Application Development Group within the IT Department and the position works closely with all Allegacy Federal Credit Union departments independently researching, designing and developing core and ancillary applications using industry best practices addressing all channels of delivery to internal and external customers as required. This position has budget responsibilities as it relates to overall budgetary goals of the Information Technology Department.  This position must balance multiple technical duties of ongoing maintenance of existing applications and systems with other members of the Application Development and Operations Group. This position must technically manage all externally hosted Web based relationships as needed.

 

Specific Accountabilities

 

  • Deliver exceptional member service to every member, every time by ensuring employees deliver consistently high quality service to both internal and external member that is in alignment with our Brand Culture.

  • Meet or exceed established service goals

  • Ensure thorough understanding of expectations and consistently exhibit Allegacy behaviors.

  • Collaborate with business representatives to understand requirements generated by business strategies and operations.

  • Develops and implements solutions, with a focus primarily on financial business objectives using API to Core system.

  • Consult on all applications and systems solution development within the enterprise.

  • Facilitate the development and evolution of the development processes and standards.

  • Document and communicate the enterprise applications and systems development.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

 

  • A strong understanding of object oriented languages and development methods.

  • A strong understanding of structured programming methods and data access concepts.

  • Experience with Core API design, development and implementation.

  • A high-level of experience in two or more of the following development languages: MS Visual Basic, .NET, ASP.NET, C#, MS-SQL Server; Experience with the following development technologies a plus: ODBC, OLE, and OCX concepts, Crystal Reports, MS-Visual Source Safe.

 
Position Requirements

Education and Experience

 

  • B.S. Degree in Information Systems, three to five years of in-depth production experience creating business related applications in a Microsoft-based Object Oriented language (MS-Visual Basic, C#, MS-ASP, .NET, VB/Java Scripting).

  • Financial business analysis, design, development and implementation experience preferred.

  • A demonstrated track record of working on projects to success following established timelines and budgets; Experience with related development technologies (MS-SQL Server, MS-Source Safe, Crystal Reports).
