Position Requirements

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

Bachelor of Science Degree required, supplemented by training in utility permit review, or a related field; supplemented by three years of experience or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

 

Additional Requirements:

Must possess a valid driver’s license

Physical Ability: Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.

Sensory Requirements: Tasks require the ability to communicate orally.

Environmental Factors: Essential functions are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.

General Description

This classification conducts duties related to the processing and issuing of utility permits, assisting customers, and providing administrative support for department operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as necessary.

  • Manages the intake of utility permit requests
  • Executes and tracks utility permit requests
  • Manages data bases and queries
  • Provides documentation associated with projects
  • Coordinates construction repairs with utility companies
  • Provide standardized procedures for the utility permitting process
  • Prepares records and reports

Additional Functions

  • Performs other related duties as required.
