Share Email Opening Title Database Administrator  Location San Antonio - Corporate   Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time   Salary Range Based on experience   Shift Various Shifts   Scheduled Days Various days  Scheduled Hours Various hours  Description Job Summary: Responsible for overseeing the maintenance and security measures of company databases and MS-SQL server. Their duties include monitoring and updating malware protection software to combat potential security breaches, creating account data for authorized individuals to access databases and organizing databases so individuals can find important documents in an efficient manner. Essential Responsibilities: Install, set-up, and configure MS-SQL Server based on best practices. Maintain MS-SQL Servers on premises and azure for high performance including backup, restore, notification, etc. Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required. Support troubleshooting. Create stored procedures, views, functions, PowerShell scripts, etc. Create and Implement database audit trails. Create and improve database documentations including data standards, database naming conventions, database coding standards and logical entity relationship diagrams. The employee shall implement the Laboratory Quality Policy and perform their duties in accordance to existing project specific requirements, current Test Methods, study plans and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Compliance to Health & Safety policies and procedures and wear required Personal Protective equipment at all times Other duties as assigned. Supervision: This position has no supervisory responsibilities   Position Requirements Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related degree 10+ years’ experience as a Data Administrator Azure (or any) Cloud and Multi-tenant implementation Hand-on experience in Query Optimization including index optimization, hints, table partitioning, execution plan, etc. Hand-on experience in PowerShell Scripting for Database Job Automation. Hand-on experience in SQL Server Always On Availability Group. Physical Demands/Work Environment: Sitting for extended periods of time Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and to handle other communications/computer components Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
