Purpose

Under the general supervision of their assigned Operations Manager the Superintendent III will operate in a matrix reporting environment. This position will take direction from their Operations Manager concerning all matters related to their own and their employee's performance while working on the project. Also, while working on the assigned project this position will take direction from the Project Manager (PM)on project execution.

This position is responsible for ensuring total client satisfaction of the project by ensuring effective communications with clients and crew, directing and coordinating the work assignments, quality of work and meeting deadlines. This is a roll-up your sleeves, hands-on functional position that works side-by-side of the crew members when needed to ensure quality work and completion of the project.

Essential Functions

Administrative:

  • Responsible for ensuring the project is appropriately staffed by communicating with the Logistics department to secure temporary personnel and outsource partners.
  • Track change orders and ensure required reporting is complete to include daily logs of trades on site and daily progress.
  • Have an advanced knowledge of the client portal to ensure all work is complete and crew members have uploaded all the required information.
  • Must have a complete understanding of all policies and procedures to ensure execution of such policies and procedures are consistent, fair and delivered within the contents of the documents.
  • Responsible for training field new hires in APPS, surveys, injury reports, and expenses.

Project Execution:

  • Responsible to ensure that crew members and the job site meet all requirements for appearance, cleanliness, safety and professionalism.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of floor plans, fixture placement drawings, construction drawings, electrical plans, lighting plans, and all constructions codes as affected by local and state ordinances.
  • Perform 'hands-on' duties to meet deadlines as needed.
  • Manage work and work schedules assigned to crew on the project to ensure all tasks and work is completed on-time and within required guidelines.
  • Responsible for quality control, client satisfaction, and project completion on assigned projects.
  • Track change orders, required reporting, daily logs and progress.
  • Notify PM of fixture and materials shipments.
  • Motivate employees on assigned projects by providing training, mentoring, support and assistance when needed.
  • Provide to your assigned Operations Manager timely evaluations on assigned crew members upon completion of projects.

Safety:

  • Promotes job site safety, encourages safe work practices and rectifies job site hazards immediately.
  • Implement corporate safety procedures, ensure job site safety is a priority, safety standards are followed.
  • Report to our Safety Specialist and your Operations Manager any serious safety violations.

Job skills

  • Manage and communicate client concerns, problems or complaints on assigned projects.
  • Ability to lead, train, motivate, mentor and develop crew members.
  • Ability to analyze problems and makes decisions in a timely manner based on objectives, risks, implications, and costs. Ensure all stakeholders have either been included as required or communicated to as needed.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, proactively with all levels of employees and customers. Strong self-awareness is key to success of this position.
  • Consistently receives a high grading from client evaluations.
  • On previous projects has successfully demonstrated the ability to supervise employees to complete the most difficult types of finish out projects.
  • Possesses a high level of knowledge in all areas of a project to execute new projects with minimum training.
  • Experienced in, reading blueprints, retail remodeling, using digital cameras, troubleshooting DAVACO applications.
  • Must have an excellent safety record.
  • Ability to be self-directed, multitask, maintain confidentiality, organize and prioritize work, and demonstrate ethical practice.
  • Must have intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Suite.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once including small, medium and large projects
  • Training – New hires from all field operations divisions. APPS. Surveys; how to do a survey and injury reports; Expenses; hands on physically processing receipts to familiarize themselves to DAVACO’s policies and procedures,
  • Skill Assessment - Hands on Skills assessments to view each employee whether they have the skills, knowledge to work with DAVACO employees in the field.
  • Mentoring - New and seasoned employees. Noticing potential employees who have both the skills and communication background to potentially grow into a higher position with additional responsibilities.
  • Implementing Policy and Procedures to ensure DAVACO’s guidelines are met.
  • Communicating with the field employees that a company credit card is a privilege and is not to be abused.
  • Understanding our travel policies, input of time. Labor verses travel.
  • Assisting field employees with proper time input.
  • Can oversee multiple projects or large scope programs. Manage 5 - 9 crews
  • Have the skill sets to perform at the highest quality level at least 5 of the components below:
