Description

The Customer Service Technician is responsible for the maintenance of personal monitors, quad head monitors, Rig Rat monitors, hardwire systems and associated gas detection equipment.

This position is located in Fort McMurray, at the HSE Station. This is a full-time with some occasional and weekends required.

The duties in for this position is (but not limited to):

  • Providing service and sales support relating to rentals and product orientation of personal monitors and gas detection equipment to HSE customers both in house and at customer locations
  • Dispatching and tracking HSE's monitoring assets for field projects and rentals
  • Conducting field installations of electronic gas detection monitoring systems and CARMEN systems
  • Providing orientation, training and mentoring to field service staff on gas detection equipment
  • Collaborate with Carmen Technicians and Fugitive Emission Technicians for product familiarity
  • May be required to create sales quotes and work orders in SPIRA, for rentals or equipment sales.
  • Working collaboratively with other stations / departments on anticipated equipment requirements
  • Clean and organize the shop area, maintain parts inventory and electronic board repairs
  • Maintaining / calibrating and repairing, all electronic equipment including personal & portable monitors, wireless and area detection systems, environment monitoring units and CARMEN monitors
  • Conduct equipment maintenance procedures at the field level
  • Any other duties as assigned by supervisors and/or management

This role requires you to have:

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Willing to learn about calibration, repair and maintenance of electronic equipment is an asset. HSE will train the right candidate.
  • Prior experience with gas detection monitoring systems in an Oil and Gas environment, is an asset. HSE will train the right candidate
  • Solution driven with the ability to organize effectively as a multi-tasked service provider
  • Physically capable of performing the following tasks:
  • Lifting up to 50lbs
  • Pushing / pulling (tools / objects)
  • Sitting / driving
 
Position Requirements
  • H2S Alive is an asset
  • Standard 1st - Aid / CPR is an asset
  • Valid unrestricted license with full driving privileges in the province of issue for the specified class of vehicle to be operated on behalf of the company or a higher class of license than that of the vehicle to be operated.
  • You will be expected to participate in the HSE Orientation Program that will include:
    • HSE Driving program
    • HSE Orientation
    • HSE Respiratory Protection
    • HSE Gas Detection
  • Petroleum Safety Training (PST) & Construction Safety Training System (CSTS) is an asset
  • EGSO ~ Enform is an asset.

*Additional training and certifications may be necessary to meet client specifications, training will be provided by HSE.
