Confined Space Rescue / Shop Technician
We are looking to a fill a full-time position at DXP/HSE Integrated for a dual position of Confined Space Rescue Technician and Shop Technician at our Dartmouth, NS Station.

Pay Rate: $22.50 to $25.00 per hour
Benefits: medical and dental
Full Time Hours: minimum 40 hours per week
Travel: for out of town work travel, subsistence and accommodations are paid. HSE vehicle provided.
The Shop Technician is responsible for assisting the Shop Foreman in the maintenance of safety equipment (Air trailers; SABA / SCBA breathing apparatus, gas detection, etc.) and the safety and maintenance of the facility and company property.
Shop Technician responsibilities and requirements:
- Inventory equipment in and report any missing or damaged items
- Clean, test and inspect equipment
- Operate breathing air compressor safely & according to company policies and procedures
- Load air trailer with equipment as per job requirements
- Bump, calibrate and maintain gas detection equipment
- Repair or replace equipment (ie. fittings, valves, etc.)
- Assist other personnel as required
- Any other duties as assigned by supervisors and/or management
A Confined Space Rescue Technician’s main responsibility is to work as a team member during rescue situations and critical tasks.
Confined Space Rescue Technician’s responsibilities and requirements:
- Facilitate rescue in the event of an incident
- Development and communication of site-specific rescue plans
- Inspect and maintain all rescue equipment on daily basis and complete all applicable documentation
- Perform atmospheric testing, pre-entry and continuous
- Ability to follow support hierarchy
- Ability to work away from home for project duration
- Extremely strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in and contribute to a team environment, with a willingness to learn and grow with us
- Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test
