Global Pastor of Student Networks

Category Student (Youth) Ministry

Job Summary
The primary responsibility of the Global Pastor of Student Networks is to provide catalytic leadership to the student ministry, helping to envision, strategize, implement, and lead a student ministry that changes the world by making disciples who make disciples:

  • This role is for someone who is passionate about God and loving others.

  • The opportunity is to create pathways for students to come to salvation, grow in their faith, become disciples (one who loves and obeys Jesus), and help disciple others.

  • Along the way, you will ensure that the DNA, vision, and values of Crossroads are communicated, demonstrated, and infused into XRStudents and iLead.

  • While the responsibilities and skills detailed below are critical, a heart for God’s Kingdom and demonstrated leadership skills, talents, and results are the foundation for success in this leadership opportunity.

Key Leadership Roles

The Global Pastor of Student Networks will work both directly and through staff, interns, and volunteer leaders to grow and multiply the student ministry of Crossroads Church. Both directly and through others:

  • The goals include:

    • Growing the XRStudents Middle School and High School ministries to each consistently have more than 100 students attending on a weekly basis.

    • Growing and multiplying the iLead ministry at local high schools and middle schools to create an effective outreach, mentoring, and discipleship pathway for students.

    • Providing vision, content, and coaching for XRStudents across all regions/locations of Crossroads.

  • The vision will be accomplished by developing disciple-making leaders – staff, interns, and adult volunteers who coach and lead Life Groups, then developing student leaders to lead at significant level.

  • Create, balance and integrate the large group (worship) and small group XRStudents experiences to reach and grow students in their faith.

  • Lead the student Life Group network, through transformative volunteer coaches:

  • Provide leadership and care of coaches and leaders

  • Facilitate both the spiritual and numerical growth of student Life Groups.

  • Cast vision and create effective training and equipping for coaches and leaders.

  • Recruit, train, and equip adult ministry leaders and Life Group leaders.

  • Lead a dynamic and attractional XRStudents service that helps connect new students, and grows the faith of all students.

  • Create pathways for students to move into leadership.

  • Provide pastoral care to students through mentoring.

  • Develop pathways and partnerships with the Elementary Kidzone ministry to provide discipleship opportunities for middle- and high-school students to lead and serve, as well as effective transitions from Kidzone to XRStudents.

  • Reinvigorate XRStudents to become a marquee ministry of Crossroads.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • You’re spiritually mature, wise, and lead with humility.

  • You have a track record of reaching the lost, and you have a heart for seekers and the unchurched. You care about seeing others come to know Jesus.

  • You’re a disciple-maker. You invest in people, and they catch that vision and go on to disciple others. You have a track record of helping people take their next step in faith, and some of them have followed your example and are currently doing the same with others.

  • You’re a self-starter. You have an ability to get things done. You’ve got a system in place to make sure things don’t fall through the cracks. You follow through on things you say you’ll do. You respond promptly to emails and phone calls.

  • You’re comfortable leading “naturally supernaturally” (operating in the gifts of the Spirit, including praying for healing and prophetic prayer) in all contexts, practically blending the natural and supernatural aspects of leadership.

  • You have relational warmth. People find you approachable and easy to talk to. You are warm and engaging, and clearly care for people. You have a pastor’s heart and a leader’s mind. You can speak comfortably and naturally in front of large and small groups. Your own personality comes through. People look to you as a leader.

About the Organization Crossroads Church began in 1991 with a few families who had a dream of a church that would reach people who did not yet have a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Founding and Lead Pastor Steve Cordle pursued this dream, taking the church from its humble beginnings at the Tonidale Restaurant, to the initial North Fayette campus in Oakdale, to where it is today: a multi-site evangelical church with five campuses in communities surrounding Pittsburgh, PA.

Holistic groups are central to the philosophy of ministry and discipleship at Crossroads. This approach to church is deeply engrained in the DNA of Crossroads, so much so that Pastor Steve wrote a book on it entitled, 'The Church in Many Houses: Reaching your Community Through Cell-Based Ministry.' Additionally, through the power of prayer and the healing work of the Holy Spirit, Crossroads has seen many people healed from the addictions, afflictions and pains of living in a fallen world. Those who serve in leadership here welcome the activation of the Spirit - especially for healing and prophecy.
