What You Will Be Doing:
The clinician/clinical manager is responsible for ensuring that the medically related emotional and social needs of the clients are met and maintained on an individual basis in accordance with policies and procedures, and current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
Essential Functions:
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Develops a comprehensive social history and psychosocial assessment that includes the client’s problems, strengths, and preferences, including cultural, religious, and ethnic background and implications for the care plan.
- Helps clients and families identify needs and develop a service plan to meet those needs.
- Provide clinical review and audit of clients’ charts and documentation to ensure compliance and support quality improvement.
- Provides clinical oversight to clinical and BT staff. Reports progress and concerns to Operations Manager.
- Oversees clinical services provided by clinical and BT staff and cosigns documentation.
- Provides individual and group counseling for clients in the afterschool, day program, MSY, and outpatient clinic.
- Works closely with Behavior Specialist and BCBA to develop ABA services.
- Orients clients and families to the program, its services, its service limitations, and clients’ rights.
- Completes Diagnostic Assessments and initial ISPs for new individuals in the Emergency Respite home
- Provides direct services in programs.
- Involves clients and families in treatment planning, encouraging their attendance at care conferences or with outside providers/professionals.
- Attends scheduled care conferences and identifies and interprets psychosocial needs of clients for inclusion in the care plan.
- Completes mandatory documentation within timelines established by applicable regulations and policies.
- Mediates issues that arise among clients, families, and staff.
- Provides linkage with appropriate community resources by maintaining knowledge of other systems, making referrals, and identifying unmet needs (e.g., recreational transportation, adaptive phone equipment, etc.).
- Provides clients and families with crisis management services as needed.
- Develops a comprehensive discharge plan in collaboration with clients, clients’ families, multidisciplinary staff, and referral agencies.
- Trains and consults with staff regarding psychosocial needs that encompass mental health, development, and diversity of individual clients to increase staff knowledge and skills.
- Educates staff about any relevant state legislation or regulations relating to behavioral health services.
- Advocates on a case, policy, and program level.
- Participates in policy decision-making in a way that encompasses an understanding of the issues and implications relevant to the developmental and behavioral health needs of clients.
- Meet required productivity requirements, which will be dependent on the number of staff requiring clinical supervision.
- Works in close conjunction with the Operations Manager to ensure ISP implementation and high-quality service delivery.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree in social work.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One to two years of social work experience in a health care setting, working directly with individuals.
- One to two years of experience providing clinical supervision to LSWs, LPC’s or interns.
- Experience working with children with autism spectrum disorders, and/or dual autism and I/DD.
- Experience working with people with mental health disorders.
Licensure/Certification:
- Licensed through the State of Ohio as an LISW-S or LPCC-S.
- Ability to obtain and maintain First Aid, CPR - adult, child, and infant. (Training will be provided, if not already certified).
- Valid Ohio Driver’s License with the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles; proof of auto insurance.
- No more than five points on license.
Additional Eligibility Qualification:
- Must be able to function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with clients, staff, and support agencies.
- Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, emotionally upset, and at times hostile clients/family members.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; drive; typing; speaking on the phone; sitting.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position provides clinical supervision to LSWs/LPC’s and Behavior Technicians that are not independently licensed daily, and formal biweekly or monthly formal clinical supervision meetings. This position is required to have biweekly or monthly supervision with assigned staff.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment; however, work in the community providing services outside of the office may at times be required depending on clinical need. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. This position operates Monday through Friday, 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, covering all the programs. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel:
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected. The position may require transporting clients as appropriate to support their treatment needs.
