Opportunity Finance Network (OFN) is looking for a talented team player to support the management of OFN’s marketing and strategic communications activities. Duties include managing OFN’s website and other materials for necessary updates, organizing content for shared use across OFN, supporting management of marketing technology software and vendors, and collecting key performance indicators (KPIs).

We help money flow to people and places where traditional finance doesn’t reach. As a financial intermediary, OFN secures private capital for CDFIs through strategic partnerships with leading corporations such as Google and Twitter, mainstream financial institutions such as Bank of America and Wells Fargo, and philanthropic organizations such as the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

OFN builds the strength of its membership and other CDFIs through financial products and services, events, training, research, policy advocacy, and visibility. Currently, OFN has an on-balance sheet loan portfolio of $150 million and manages capital on-and off-balance sheets of nearly $1 billion, and has plans to bring an additional $1 billion in new private capital to the industry.

This position is based in Washington, D.C. All staff currently work a hybrid schedule.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Track and publish website content updates, such as media coverage, OFN public appearances, and CDFI industry job bank, to ensure all content remains current and relevant.
  • Manage inventory of marketing material and update items as needed, including tracking and storing digital assets and other content in Salesforce and SharePoint for easy access across the organization.
  • Support management of OFN’s communications infrastructure across multiple platforms and lead coordination with marketing technology software and vendors.
  • Track departmental performance metrics and produce reports, including a quarterly report for investors.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with all levels of the organization to facilitate cross-functional collaboration related to marketing technology and content needs associated with this role.
  • Other related duties as needed, such as supporting email marketing, virtual presentations, and video and graphics production for events and other core business.
 
Position Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or 5-7 years of equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 1-3 years of demonstrated communications work experience.
  • 1-3 years of professional experience working at a national membership association desired.
  • A strong passion for, understanding of, and commitment to OFN’s mission, vision, and values; familiarity with the CDFI industry is strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication skills in public and private settings both in verbal and written formats required.
  • A collaborative team player who possesses good interpersonal skills to work across all levels of the organization required.
  • Ability to adapt content, including both copy and graphics, for digital marketing platforms, fact sheets, events, and more required.
  • Adept at online content publishing required.
  • Tight organization, project planning skills, and close attention to detail are required as the Associate supports time-critical content publishing across many platforms and maintains records for the department required.
  • Ability to understand diverse perspectives required.
  • Familiarity with a range of marketing technology, such as WordPress, Salesforce, SharePoint, Pardot, CVENT, YouTube, Google Analytics, and Mentionlytics required.
  • Ability to set priorities, follow through on challenging situations, and effectively manage time under moderate supervision required.
  • Must be comfortable working in a small office environment.
  • Light to moderate travel required (5-15% of time).
  • No extraordinary physical requirements beyond ability to travel.
