Description

LSA is seeking a Senior Water Quality Specialist with environmental planning experience. Under the direction of a Principal in Charge, the Water Quality Specialist will prepare technical reports (Water Quality Assessment Reports, water quality and floodplain analyses) and environmental documentation, primarily in compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) (e.g., Initial Studies and Environmental Impact Reports [EIRs]). The Water Quality Specialist must have the ability to pursue and obtain new business opportunities for water quality and/or environmental services, prepare effective technical proposals and take and active leadership role in the development of new business with existing and new clients.

Strong emphasis will be placed on previous technical experience, quality of work, and the ability to manage budgets and schedules. Excellent communication skills, willingness to collaborate with others, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are essential. Candidates must have excellent writing skills.

The salary range for this position is $71,000 to $154,000 per year. The compensation offer will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience.

 
Position Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of increasingly responsible experience with the preparation of water quality technical reports, as well as knowledge of related federal, State, and local environmental statutes and regulations
  • Strong background in water quality/hydrology/stormwater management
  • Experience with the preparation of documents that comply with CEQA and/or NEPA, as well as knowledge of related federal, State, and local environmental statutes and regulations
  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s Preferred) in environmental/civil engineering (or related field)
  • PE not required
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Excellent organization, schedule, and budget-management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work as a member of a fast-paced team
  • Experience in a private environmental consulting firm preferred, but not required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
 
Compensation The salary range for this position is $71,000 to $154,000 per year. The compensation offer will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience.
