It may be combined with other duties on campus for a full time position. Responsibilities and Duties Model for students the characteristics of a Lasallian/Vincentian educator; Support SHC’s mission, philosophy and integral student outcomes; Build positive relationships with students and the broader SHC community, contributing to SHC’s inclusive learning; Create an engaging and student-centered learning environment, in the physical and virtual classroom; Facilitate real world problem-solving and understanding of diverse mathematical methods, so students can more critically engage with mathematical reasoning, employ critical thinking and creative strategies, and articulate objective conclusions; In collaboration with Math Department colleagues (see https://www.shcp.edu/academics/category/mathematics), Design and implement standards-based lessons to facilitate critical thinking and mastery of essential understandings and application of skills as determined by the colleagues teaching the same course; Plan and implement what students will learn, how they will learn, and how they will be assessed in a manner appropriate to the grade level; Provide regular and varied assessments of student learning to compile accurate grades and properly determine what and how all students are learning; Communicate consistently with students, parents, and school personnel; Keep current and complete electronic grading and attendance records; Work with the Academic Resource Specialist and/or counselors to accommodate students who have learning differences;   Position Requirements Required Qualifications Undergraduate degree in Math or related field; Teaching credential or work toward it; single-subject teaching credential in Math preferred; Experience working with high school students; Ability to work collaboratively to promote student learning. Desired Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Math or related subject; Experience in a Catholic high school setting; Experience as a secondary-level classroom teacher.
