Share Email Opening Title 387 Convenience Store Supervisor  Location Leech Lake Express Cass Lake   Description POSITION SUMMARY Job Description: Responsible for assisting General Manager in effective and efficient daily operations of the Shingobee convenience / liquor store. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist to ensure effective and efficient daily operations. Supervise plans, organizes and directs the activities convenience store. Responsible for accurate handling of all monies while cashiering. Responsible for maintaining stock inventory. Assist guest/employees with daily issues or questions. Complete all paperwork required and keep accurate log of transactions. Assist in keeping staff informed of any current events involving the property and store. Maintain department schedules with accurate record keeping in all aspects. Expected to perform a full range of supervisory responsibility, maintain proper attendance in accordance with policies, and recognize that they are a representative of the property and responsible for demonstration courtesy respect and sensitivity to the needs of every guest and co-worker. Responsible for the full range of training for the positions supervised. Assist with the implementation of approval Policies & Procedures, controls and directives to affect deficiencies for attainment of properties objectives and goals while safeguarding all assets relative to the properties operation. Attend all mandatory meetings and training. Must have ability to maintain confidentiality. Sensitivity to Native American Culture. Operate within the parameters of the Leech Lake Gaming Human Resource Policy, Departmental Policy Manual and all Tribal Internal Controls (TICs), and all other applicable regulations. Secure the assets of Leech Lake Gaming and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe. Other duties as assigned.   Position Requirements POSITION REQUIREMENTS Cash handling experience is required and strong mathematical aptitude is desired. Strong computer skills to support completing data entry, filing storage, modification and retrieval of data related to the daily operations of the store. High school education and three years related supervisory experience and /or other closely related field, or any combination of education and experience. Must have skills to develop directives, instructions and procedures concerning the administration of the store. Must have supervisor experience and be able to perform all supervisory functions. Be flexible in scheduling, including holidays. Must be willing to come in when employees call in and be readily available. Must be able to communicate effectively to the public and staff, must have effective verbal and written communication skills to develop training requirements and enhancements. Ability to operate a calculator, adding machine, and POS system is required. Must Meet state licensing requirements; pass criminal background check. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Physically capable of remaining on feet for extended periods of time. Ability to lift heavy objects including lifting and caring up to 25 pounds. Subject to internal working conditions including a smoking environment. Prolonged standing. Must be able to physically assist Guests and necessary SKILLS & ABILITIES Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) Experience: Two to four years related experience Computer Skills: Must Have Strong Computer Skills & be fluent with all Microsoft Office products.
