The Project Manager ensures that all members of a project team work collaboratively and individually to create a deliverable that meets clients’ or stakeholders’ expectations and is responsible for the management of projects of varying size and complexity from inception through to implementation. Most importantly, this individual possesses the ability to accurately estimate projects and follow-up with the cross functional teams to deliver on time and on budget. The Senior Project Manager instils confidence in the client and internal cross-functional teams with clear and frequent communication updates.

The Project Manager will work with stakeholders throughout the organization and will be accountable to set project deadlines, assign responsibilities, monitor and summarize projects' progress, ensuring timely and quality completion. The candidate will use analytical skills and demonstrated business acumen to not only manage timelines but to understand the impacts of decisions and actions.

Success in this role will be found in being a proven self-starter with a tenacity for leading and coordinating cross-functional teams with a results-oriented and customer centric focus. The Senior Project Manager will be adept at managing competing priorities in a very dynamic and fast-paced organization; strong, clear communication skills are critical.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Defining and managing scope, goals and deliverables that support business objectives in collaboration with the senior leadership team and internal stakeholders.
  • Establishing effective and appropriate project management approaches and processes for given environment and work at hand.
  • Create and maintain project documentation including Project schedule, status reports, risks (opportunities)/actions/issues/decisions/delays (RAIDD) log, correspondence/meeting minutes, identify out of scope items/change requests, follow-up with Team and Clients on their Action Items.
  • Remove Obstacles from Team by Problem Solving and Following-through on Action Items. And deliver projects via cross-functional teams, while developing and building confidence and trust of employees, business partners, and client stakeholders.
  • Estimating the resource and participants required to achieve project goals.
  • Ensuring proper risk management by documenting all risks and employing an effective mitigation strategy.
  • Put together Change Requests (CR) & Statements of Work (SOW), by gathering estimates from various teams and determining timelines.
  • Report the project status & health to the NCM Executive as well as Client Stakeholders.
  • Contribute to NCM capacity planning and deliver projects by tracking and ensuring resource availability and allocation across different job disciplines & cross-functional teams required to deliver multiple project activities.
  • Understand interdependencies between technology, operations, and business needs.
  • Continuous Improvement by contributing to optimizing PMO & Delivery processes.
  • Be an NCM ambassador within the automotive and business community, as well as NCM staff.
  • Large projects include onboardings of new clients.
  • Occasionally work evenings with clients to support Off Hours Deployments, and Australia time zone.
  • This position may also coach, mentor and motivate Project Managers, Project Coordinators, and project team members.
 
Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent organization, leadership, and presentation skills.
  • Firm knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
  • Ability to influence and foster an environment of shared accountability.
  • Must have experience project managing a software product release (preferably SAAS). Must be fully capable of using Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office Suite of Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Must have proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have capability in delivering within a relatively small software development organization.
  • Must be very comfortable communicating with development teams; can ask the correct questions and assess to ensure accurate quoting and delivery of a software product.
  • Must have demonstrated ability in managing multiple concurrent projects ranging from $10,000 to $1M while retaining an attention to detail.
  • 7+ years experience working within IT Projects environment and/or experience relevant to this role.
  • Must have excellent English verbal and written communications skills.
  • Experience in automotive sector would be an asset.
  • Experience delivering within an Agile Model, or Scrum Framework, is an asset.
  • Software Development, QA, and/or BA experience would be an asset.
  • CAPM, or PMP designation, or working towards PMP certification would be an asset.
