IT Systems Integration Specialist 


The IT Systems Integration Specialist is responsible for coordinating with various departments at the Museum to maximize the potential of the IT domain in Museum business operations. The position is responsible for developing innovative and cost-effective solutions to maximize the museums data management, software integration, and online sales potential across multiple business areas. The Specialist must communicate effectively regarding planning, implementation, use, and support of technology resources. The Specialist must be a leader able to work across departments and with external contacts to build consensus on the requirements, and lead the implementation and training on new platforms and solutions.

Essential Functions:

  • Understand Museum business processes in order to coordinate data management and system integration.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to develop IT solutions to create business efficiencies and exploit market potential.
  • Manage relationships with relevant external support partners
  • Coordinate museum electronic data acquisition, storage, access, and utilization across departments and business areas.
  • Work with Director of IT to analyze spending on current resources and identify and implement areas of improved efficiency.
  • Manage integration of online sales platform integration to maximize system efficiency and online sales.
  • Support Director of IT in all areas as needed.
  • Coordinate and provide training to staff for hardware and software applications as necessary.
  • Foster a culture of innovation regarding IT resources
Position Requirements
  • Must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccination and booster by date of hire to be considered. Proof of vaccination will be required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems or computer science engineering or related area from an accredited institution is required
  • Minimum five years’ experience in systems integration and/or database management
  • Advanced computer software and hardware knowledge and skills
  • Demonstrated experience with IT systems and IT management.
  • Experience with and understanding of strategic and business planning methods, tools, and processes
  • Experience in working through major system upgrades and changes
  • A track record of successful project implementations
  • Demonstrated business savvy to work effectively with other Executives to achieve key business and technology goals
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment
  • Self-starter, with the ability to prioritize and execute in a fast-paced environment
  • Supervisory experience
  • Strong customer-service orientation
  • Strong communication skills

Morgan, America's oldest commercial ship still in existence.
