Description

Job Summary:

Systems Administrator 3 supports network architecture, design, performance analysis, requirement definition and allocation, as well as performance modeling. This individual will provide systems engineering support for hardware acquisition of air, space, and ground systems utilizing state-of-the-art antenna, RF, digital, and micro electronics technologies. This role spans all phrases from hardware and space segment acquisition to operation and innovation. Academic and/or previous work experience should include exposure to several of the following – communication systems, RF and digital hardware design, baseband and digital signal processing, waveform design, signal detection and estimation, and synchronization theory. This role is a for an early/Junior Engineer, but recent Electronic Engineer graduates and internship candidates will be considered, as well. An Active DoD Secret Clearance is preferred, but not requires and/or the ability for the candidate to obtain one.

As with any position, additional expectations exist.  Some of these are, but are not limited to, adhering to normal working hours, meeting deadlines, following company policies as outlined by the Employee Handbook, communicating regularly with assigned supervisor, and staying focused on the assigned tasks.

 
Position Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • 1+ years’ Electronic or Systems Engineering experience (Academic or Professional)
  • Bachelors’ degree in Electronics Engineering OR related field
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • DoD Secret security clearance preferred OR the ability to obtain Secret Clearance
  • Must be able to lift and carry bulky and heavy items (up to 50 lbs) through tight spaces and up and down narrow and steep stairways


Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) Electronic Engineering with a concentration in RF Communications or equivalent Experience (recent graduate or in final year of study) is a plus
  • Experience or knowledge with Ku/XC/DA Band Satellite Communications Systems
  • Experience or knowledge in Network design, voice, and data communications
  • Good interpersonal skills to interface with internal and external customers and vendors. Customer service skills are essential.
  • Problem solving skills to troubleshoot varied problems within varied environments
  • High sense of urgency that allows for success when working under pressure
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-orientate, collaborative environment
  • Capability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Excellence with multi-tasking and the ability to quickly react to changes in priorities and timelines
