Description

Under the direction of the Keeping Families Together (KFT) Supervisor, the Housing Specialist works as part of a multi-disciplinary to promote child wellbeing and family stability while improving the capacity of caregivers to provide a safe and permanent home to their children. The Housing Specialist will focus on rapport and good communication with our landlords, responsibility for inspecting units before occupancy, inspecting units as needed while tenants are staying within the unit, provide "good tenancy" education and coach tenants in the importance of maintaining cleanliness for the safety of themselves and their children. The Specialist will work as a member of interdisciplinary team in discussion regarding households at risk of eviction due to lease or tenancy violations. This job requires experience in services delivered within the community, housing inspections, and familiarity with tenant and landlord obligations. In addition, this Specialist will need to be comfortable interacting with landlords, case management, maturity, on-call availability, evening hours, and a tenacious and outgoing personality.

 
Position Requirements

Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university in a mental health related discipline. Minimum of two years related experience and/or training. Ability to be on-call and a flexible work schedule. A valid driver's license in good standing.
