Description

The Coordinator of Corporate Partnerships will work with the Director of Corporate Partnerships and the Senior Director of Institutional Partnerships to engage the private sector in the food bank’s mission, with a focus on expanding and upgrading support from corporations throughout the region. This position will provide general support for the corporate vertical and manage a portfolio of donors committing up to $10K annually, with the goal of growing their financial support. The person will work across the organization – but most closely with the food bank’s fundraising, volunteer, and grant coordination teams – to ensure the corporate supporter experience is top-notch, whether corporations are giving philanthropically, donating food, dedicating volunteer hours, and participating virtually in our employee engagement programs.

 
Position Requirements

Essential Functions:

Corporate Partner and Prospect Relationship Management – 55%

  • Triage all “cold” requests that come to the food bank from the private sector and either respond directly or collaborate with the appropriate team member to engage the prospective corporation;
  • Maintain a portfolio of select companies contributing in multi-asset ways to the food bank: philanthropic support, volunteerism, employee engagement, etc.;
  • Develop and submit concepts, proposals, and reports for assigned portfolio; support the director and senior director with concepts, proposals, and reports as needed;
  • In collaboration with the Director of Corporate Partnerships, assess and identify opportunities for CAFB engagement with the private sector;
  • Analyze data on funding and funders to help inform pitches;
  • In coordination with the director, develop and implement a strategy to maintain and increase workplace giving revenue.

Corporate Vertical Coordination – 20%

  • In collaboration with the Director of Corporate Partnerships, develop turnkey engagement mechanisms by which the Food Bank can manage and grow its corporate portfolio;
  • Provide operational support for the corporate vertical, including but not limited to completing new donor vendor paperwork, issuing invoices, managing acknowledgements/tax-receipts, supporting internal processes for grant setup, ensuring corporate gift coding, etc.;
  • Track corporate opportunities through Feeding America and coordinate internally as needed;
  • Manage quarterly newsletter for corporate partners and ensure accuracy of corporate partnership information on CAFB website.

Research – 15%

  • Conduct prospect research for assigned portfolio and to support broader new business development efforts around annual support for the food bank and the capital campaign;
  • Utilize Salesforce to track leads and opportunities and to build and maintain a healthy pipeline of fundraising opportunities;
  • Work closely with the Gifts Processing team to ensure timely donation processing and prompt acknowledgement of funding secured;
  • Stay abreast of trends, news, events and deadlines in the corporate social responsibility and cause marketing space.

Miscellaneous

  • Duties as assigned, to include participating in events, fundraising fairs, and team activities.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least one year of successful fundraising experience and proven ability to secure funding, ideally from the private sector
  • Proposal writing experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint
  • Experience using donor database systems, such as Salesforce, strongly preferred
