Commercial Banking Portfolio Manager
The Commercial Banking Portfolio Manager is responsible for making a valuable contribution to the bank's commercial lending sales and Business development by establishing New business development, customer contacts, quoting/developing lending proposals, customer relationship management while contributing to marketing/lead generation and assisting with deposit growth, servicing Fairfield County.
The role will provide direct support to Commercial Lenders, and the SVP, Senior Commercial Lender with respect to portfolio management of commercial customer relationships. The role will work closely with Commercial Lenders to address ongoing monitoring and lending needs for new and existing commercial customers.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Management
Work closely with Commercial Lenders, commercial customers, and the Credit Administration/Underwriting team to process annual reviews, and new business requests to existing customers.
Assist Commercial Lenders in the preparation of loan packages including proposals, and officer memos/deal summaries.
Attend client / prospect calls with Commercial Lenders in order to gain a thorough understanding of the client / prospect and their business in order to effectively assist in annual reviews, renewals and prospect conversions.
Support underwriting efforts by completing due diligence on prospects or customers as may be required and coordinate such work with Credit Administration / Underwriting and Commercial Lenders.
Analyze Financial information under direction of Commercial Lenders or SVP Commercial Banking.
Support Commercial Lenders in related portfolio management activities, whether related to credit, depository or other banking services. Perform other related duties and special projects as requested by management.
Complete quarterly watched asset reports and action plans.
Perform other related duties and special projects as requested by management, which could include managing a limited number of customer relationships, performing the functions of a Commercial Lender in oversight of these customers, whether in identifying and providing product solutions, or in ongoing servicing of the account.
Established referral network and business contacts that will enable Commercial Banking Portfolio Manager to generate successful SBA loan opportunities.
Achieve goals and objectives set for customer retention, commercial loan close rates and new business volume.
Achieve goals and objectives set for commercial loan growth, deposit growth, fee income, and new relationships.
Participate in community and business functions/groups to provide a positive image for the bank within the region's marketplace.
Attend relevant business functions to establish Banks presence and cultivate CDC relationships.
Contribute to bank's marketing activities to generate leads for our sales process.
Create and develop commercial relationships through networking, cold calling and other sales methods
Service and expand existing relationships through calling efforts and contact management activities
Stay current on bank products and services with emphasis on commercial banking
Customer Contact
Achieve goals and objectives set for number, type and frequency of customer contacts
Maintain an accurate record of customer contacts and calls in CRM system, including valuable notes to assist our sales process across all channels
Generate accurate expense reports and lists of new and/or potential contacts in their market area
Assist with customer presentations and on-site customer visits and invite business partners as needed.
Provide support to business partners and use analysis to discover the cause and effect of specific problems.
Address customer questions and concerns, document the conversations and take appropriate action to overcome issues.
Community Involvement
Expand network and sales opportunities by developing relationships with individuals and businesses throughout the community.
Volunteer for at least two organizations and attend one community event per month.
