Researches, develops, designs and tests electrical components, equipment and systems. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Designs electrical equipment, components and products for AFPSL. Directs engineering personnel in fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment and determines methods, procedures, and conditions for testing products. Develops applications of controls, instruments and systems. Directs activities to ensure that all testing conforms to functional specifications and customer requirements. NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Perform other related duties as assigned.   Position Requirements REQUIREMENTS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Physics or Mathematics. Minimum five (5) years’ experience in metrology or related discipline. Working knowledge of metrology theory, principles and practices in assigned measurement areas. Understanding of theory and application of measurement uncertainty analysis. Thorough understanding of the requirements of ISO 17025 and T.O. 00-20-14. Excellent leadership, oral and interpersonal skills required. Good English written and oral communication skills Understanding of theory and application of measurement uncertainty analysis Must be a U.S. Citizen Must be able to qualify for or have successfully completed a National Agency Check investigation within the last ten (10) years. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Required Occasionally – Climbing, Stooping, Kneeling Required Often – Reaching, Standing, Sitting, Walking, Pushing, Pulling, Talking, Hearing, Seeing Lifting/Moving Requirements: Must have the ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds (lbs.); must have the ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements when calibrating certain TMDE. Environmental Conditions: Normally works in an environmentally controlled work area.
