Manufacturing Engineer

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • TECHNICAL
    • Responsible for all production and repair activities in support of assigned products.
    • Initiates and drives to completion productivity initiatives across all of operations.
    • POC for assigned projects cradle to grave.
    • Subject matter expert on 5S, Visual Factory, CI and factory layout.
    • Authors or edits procedures and documentation through change management process directly related to products.
    • Designs, develops, and implements cost-effective methods of producing and repairing product for all phases of manufacturing.
    • Designs and validates production processes and fixtures in accordance with product and customer specifications.
    • Works with assigned operations personnel to establish methods and supports completion rates for production cells.
    • Transitions production solutions between factories during product acquisitions.
    • Interfaces with management to present program status, capital requests, or continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

 

  • FINANCIAL
    • Responsible for production equipment capital inputs and productivity planning of the Business Unit.

 

  • REPORTING
    • Accountable to proactively communicate all operational and technical risk and opportunities within their business unit.
    • Provide regular performance updates to the Engineering Manager.

 

  • CULTURE
    • Proactively support the operations build plan by providing technical support that generates productivity.

MINUMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

    • 4 year degree in a technical discipline; plus a minimum of 8 years direct industry experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • Strong mechanical and process development abilities.
    • Advanced knowledge of fixture and production aid design.
    • Driver of continuous improvement and productivity initiatives.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, can tailor conversations appropriately to target audience, communicates clearly with managers and technicians, works effectively in teams or alone with little supervision.
    • Comfortable with ambiguity and constant change, nimble and responsive in the short-term while driving progress on longer-term initiatives

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. and be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time. Occasional Domestic and international travel may required to support business needs.
