All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status or any other characteristic protected by law.   Category Engineering   Description The Engineering Technician V performs non-routine and complex assignments involving responsibility for planning and conducting a complete project of relatively limited scope or a portion of a larger and more diverse project, selects and adapts plans, techniques, designs, or layouts, contacts personnel in related activities to resolve problems and coordinate the work, reviews, analyzes, and integrates the technical work of others. assignments that are not completely standardized or prescribed, as well as selects or adapts standard procedures or equipment, using fully applicable precedents, receives initial instructions, equipment requirements, and advice from supervisor or engineer, as needed. Serves as the contract point of contact with the customer and corporate operations department.     RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Essential/Typical Duties: Responsible for monitoring workload and assigning work Responsible for maintaining records Responsible for final Quality Control on all projects Responsible for training new employees Responsible for mentoring all employees Constructing components, subunits, or simple models or adapts standard equipment; may troubleshoot and correct malfunctions; Following specific layout and scientific diagrams to construct and package simple devices and subunits of equipment. Conducting various tests or experiments which may require minor modifications in test setups or procedures as well as subjective judgments in measurement, selecting, preparing, and operating standard test equipment and records test data; Extracting and compiling a variety of engineering data from field notes, manuals, lab reports, etc., processing data, identifying errors or inconsistencies, selecting methods of data presentation. Assisting in design modification by compiling data related to design, specifications, and materials that are pertinent to specific items of equipment or component parts; developing information concerning previous operational failures and modifications, and using judgment and initiative to recognize inconsistencies or gaps in data and seek sources to clarify information. Provides semiprofessional technical support for engineers working is such areas as research, design, development, testing, or manufacturing process improvement. Non-Essential Duties: Performs other related duties as assigned. Environmental Conditions: Normally works in an environmentally controlled work area. EOE M/F/D/V Employability in the U.S. and pre-employment drug screen required   Position Requirements BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of five (5) years’ experience providing troubleshooting services with electrical, electronic, or mechanical components and/or equipment; Drafting and machining experience is required. Demonstrable knowledge of science and engineering; Practical knowledge of mathematics or computer science is required; Great working knowledge of electrical, electronics, and mechanical operating principles. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Competent with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word). Must be a U.S. Citizen, be able to acquire and maintain any and all necessary security clearances. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
