Customer Service Representative - Fulltime - Day Shift - Starting Pay $17/hr

About the Organization White's Boots was born to serve the men who built the West. Beginning in the 1850's in the Shenandoah Valley, John White set himself a remarkable task: find the explorers and the visionaries, the tough as nails and the never quitters, and build them a boot as tough as they were.

John's search for such men led him and his son Otto to the logging camps and mining towns of the Pacific Northwest, where the days were long and the conditions could chew up a boot in weeks flat. There, the Whites set to work producing something unique: a boot so rugged you couldn't wear it out, and so comfortable you'd want to sleep in it. Before long, few tradesmen bought a boot without visiting Otto White, and once they added their names to his book, they never went anywhere else.

Since Otto's passing in 1972, the White's family has been loyal to his vision - it was never about the boot for Otto: it was about the foot, and the man on top of it. Every pioneer needs a strong foundation, sure footing no matter the road. Our honor and pleasure is to provide it.

The White's Legacy is more than a boot: it is the heavy tread of the determined men we have served, and will continue to serve wherever we find them.

Description

White's Boots is looking to add a leader to the Customer Service team who will support the mission of White's Boots and provide exceptional service to our customers. We are seeking someone who is a learner, self-starter, and someone who wants to build a career within a local and stable company.

THE CULTURE

At White’s, we are looking for a Customer Service Representative who understands the vision, purpose, and mission of our company and is invested in connecting our customers with the best products available to suit their needs. As a key member of our small team, you will be helping customers from all over the world find “a strong foundation” in our boots.

In this position, your primary focus will be top quality customer service; an ability to take phone calls and field questions with a cheerful and positive attitude is a must.

THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

While customer service is your main duty, it is by no means the only tenet of this position. Eventually, you will:

  • Be the point of contact for White’s retail customers and wholesale dealers
  • Provide accurate information on current and past orders
  • Provide accurate information on all products, processes, and policies
  • Keep detailed track of multiple customers and processes at a time
  • Utilize multiple programs and computer databases
  • Input detailed data for new customers and orders

While performing the duties of this job, you may occasionally need to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk and hear. You must be able to occasionally lift or move office products and supplies up to 20 lbs.

THE BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

In our company, we believe in cultivating a student mindset in our employees.

As a customer service agent with White’s, you will need a great deal of industry specific knowledge, but we certainly do not expect you to be an expert right away. We do expect, however, that you be open to learning new things, eager for a challenge, and capable of managing new material in a way that suits your learning style.

We are interested in training the right candidate, but we expect you to:

  • Be able to communicate clearly over the phone and through email
  • Be able to type 30+ WPM and use a 10-key pad
  • Have some data entry and order taking experience
  • Have basic math skills

This job can be challenging at times. You will encounter upset customers, confusing instructions, and difficult tasks. In order to be a successful part of our team, you should be:

  • Persistent in learning the product and processes
  • Reliable and dependable
  • Emotionally intelligent
  • Patient with our customers, your coworkers, and yourself

THE BENEFITS

Your starting wage as a Customer Service Representative is $17.00/hour with regular evaluations and opportunities for additional compensation through raises and overtime. The schedule is consistent; Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm with an hour’s break for lunch. We also offer a bonus to new hires up to $600 within the first 6 months. Employees who have been referred to us are eligible for additional bonuses upon meeting certain requirements.

After your first 90 days of employment, you will be eligible for:

  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance coverage
  • Life Insurance coverage
  • Attorney Services coverage
  • Employee Assistance program
  • Employee of the Month recognition
  • Company-wide employee discount
  • Vacation and Sick Leave
  • Paid Holidays

We are a family-oriented company and a great deal of our employees have been with us for more than a decade. We want to hire the right people, the “tough as nails and never quitters,” and ensure longevity for the company and the employees.
