Crisis Response Worker (MCRT) 

About the Organization York Support Services Network (YSSN) is a non-profit agency providing streamlined access for mental health and addictions services as well as case management and community crisis response services within York Region and South Simcoe. It is a designated administrator of the Developmental Services Ontario program and offers access for adults to developmental services in central east region.


One Full Time Contract to March 31, 2025 - Mobile Crisis Response Unit Worker 

The MCRT crisis worker is part of a mobile response team serving Nottawasaga. Working in partnership with Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and EMS services, the Crisis Response Worker is responsible for providing crisis assessment, intervention and stabilization to individuals who have serious mental health and/or addiction concerns and as necessary link individuals to appropriate ongoing mental health & addiction services. 

Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related discipline (i.e. Psychology, etc.)

  • Minimum three years related experience

  • Knowledge and practice of short-term urgent response, psychosocial rehabilitation approach and advanced clinical, crisis and assessment skills are essential.

  • Experience working with individuals having a serious mental illness & addiction is essential. 

  • Work in collaboration with police and EMS services to assess and manage appropriate interventions

  • Crisis skills for adults experiencing a mental health crisis are desirable.

  • Experience and knowledge of the criminal justice system is an asset

  • Knowledge of the local service system is essential

  • The successful applicant will be required to provide a police clearance that meets agency standards

  • A valid G driver’s license, business use insurance, and reliable vehicle are required for this position.
