Quality Assurance Engineer


In this role, you will:

  • Work closely with Manufacturing, Service, Purchasing and Engineering to support quality control activities related to use of goods which meets specifications.
  • Assist in developing quality control policies to improve production efficiencies.
  • Assist with the completion of first article quality control inspections, receiving inspection, in-process inspections, and inspection of finished product to ensure compliance with company standards by using varying forms of measurement instruments including but not limited to calipers, micrometers, microscope, multimeter, laser power meter, etc.
  • Investigate causes of non-conforming material. Identify, communicate, and assist in the resolution of quality related issues.
  • Process non-conforming requests (NCR's) by working closely with Manufacturing, Service, Purchasing and Engineering.
  • Interpret and record QA observations of production processes and make recommendations for improving production processes.
  • Manage non-conforming material so that it is controlled in accordance with Sciton procedures and processed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure proper procedures, policies, standards and specifications are in place and being followed for production efficiency and quality of product, employee safety, and state and federal guidelines.
  • Recommend improvements to production methods and quality of products.
  • Train and instruct employees regarding production and equipment standards and Processes.
  • Oversee instruction, implementation and enforcement of policies as they relate to employees.
  • Perform quality audits to ensure compliance with FDA and ISO regulations.
  • Perform training and maintain training records as they apply to QA.
 
Position Requirements

Essential Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to express oneself clearly and concisely - over the telephone, in person or in writing.
  • Ability to assume responsibility and exercise good judgment when making decisions within the scope of the position.
  • Ability to investigate, debug and triage difficult problems and independently work toward timely resolution.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • 2-3 years of related QC experience, preferably in materials intensive manufacturing.
  • BS degree in Engineering, or a related field.
  • Occasional weekends and evening hours may be required to complete related tasks.
  • Experience working within a medical equipment manufacturing environment is a plus.
